Stable Cottages offer a choice of two and four bedroom cottages which sit amongst twenty acres of Kentish countryside on the Hoo Peninsula. Owned and run by the Symonds family who live on-site in their home, the charming oak beamed cottages are fully central heated and provide a comfortable retreat at any time of the year. With sweeping views over the River Thames, the cottages are nicely tucked away along a private lane with electric gates for security.
Ideally located, Stable Cottages are within easy reach (ten miles) of Historic Rochester with its castle, beautiful cathedral and high street full of interesting shops and eating establishments. Within an hour’s drive you have numerous National Trust properties, gardens and castles; the Kent coastline and the popular seaside towns of Whitstable with its harbour, Margate with the Tate Gallery and Ramsgate with its golden sandy beach and harbour; the city of Canterbury and also London which is easily accessible.
For walkers, there are numerous footpaths to explore through the countryside and the Saxon Shore Way is close to Hoo, as is the RSPB reserve in High Halstow for bird watchers with Europe's largest Heronry. Shopaholics will love a visit to Bluewater or Lakeside across the river in Essex.
