About Magical Margate Townhouse

Magical Margate Townhouse will bewitch you with its beauty and space. The luxurious period townhouse is perfect for a celebration escape with your family and friends, easily sleeping up to 16 people in eight ensuite bedrooms (plus 2 babies in cots) with lots of space for socialising and having fun. The owners have cleverly created a space that feels both historic and contemporary, mixing the house's original features and graceful proportions with modern comforts and a 21st Century design. The beautiful holiday home is just outside of Margate's town centre and only a few minutes' walk from the beach and towns many attractions, pubs, cafes and shops.

Margate has experienced a well-deserved revival. This queen's crown has been polished and its parks, promenade and town centre are once again the sparkling jewels that attract not only holidaymakers but also a new generation of residents who have transformed Margate into a buzzing community. The house is in a conservation area and across the road from a park and play area. You can walk to the beach in around five-minutes, while Margate Old Town, Margate Main Sands and the long Victorian promenade are only a little further. The location is perfect as it is close enough to everything for convenience yet still quiet and peaceful (the coastal path is a 2-minute walk and there are water sports and pubs within 5-minutes as well as a bowling alley and bar just 2-minutes away).

As you would hope to find in a Victorian resort, Margate is packed with traditional seaside attractions that include places like the Dreamland vintage theme park with its long wooden rollercoaster, the Hornby Hobbies Visitor Centre dedicated to all things model-related, Margate Caves, and the fantastic Turner Contemporary gallery on the seafront. The town has a full calendar of events that include festivals, markets and live theatre and music performances.

Days out can include a trip to the RAF Manston History Museum, walking around Monkton Nature Reserve, cycling the popular circular Viking Coastal Trail, or shopping and sightseeing in the historic city of Canterbury which is only about half an hour's drive from the house.

Short breaks are available all year round and, with Margate being less than 90-minutes by train from London St Pancras station, it's ideal for a short break or a longer stay with your extended family or friends. If you're searching for somewhere to celebrate a milestone birthday or a special event, then this Magical Margate Townhouse is ideal.

Location (Kent)

Accommodation Comprises:

The townhouse dates from 1870 and has been lovingly restored by its owners into a light spacious property where guests immediately feel relaxed and welcome. Accommodation is over five floors with a huge 4,200 square feet of space in which to spread out. Highlights include:

  • An enormous space to cook and eat, with the kitchen/breakfast room and dining room taking up almost the entirety of the ground floor. The space has been opened up so the light flows all the way from the front to the rear of the house, while original fireplaces, solid wood flooring and a huge dining table that seats 16+ people add to its charm, as does the sea view and up-cycled furniture.
  • Well-equipped kitchen fitted with everything you'll need to cater for a big group of hungry guests including a range cooker, a large fridge/freezer and two dishwashers.
  • A choice of reception rooms including a gorgeous sitting room with sea views, wood burner, and seating for everyone, and a games/cinema room with a 65-inch Smart TV with Freesat and Disney+ channels as well as a games console, a snug, a study/library, and a playroom stocked with books, toys and games for children.
  • Eight gorgeous ensuite bedrooms with a boutique-hotel feel thanks to luxurious finishes and furnishings. Seven of the bedrooms can be set up with either two single beds or one super-kingsized bed, so you can adjust the layout to suit your needs, while the eighth bedroom has a kingsize bed.
  • Upcycled furnishings, sea views and thoughtful touches throughout.
  • Utility room with laundry facilities and a secure storage room for bikes, golf clubs, buggies, and other sports equipment.
  • Travel cots, highchairs and stairgates are all available - please ask when booking.

Outside: A courtyard garden has a barbecue and garden furniture for relaxed alfresco meals. There is also a second courtyard garden which gives access to the utility rooms and one of the bedrooms. Free parking outside the property.

Additional Information: All utilities, WiFi, bed linen and bath towels are provided, as is fuel for the wood burner and stove. Guests to provide beach towel and cot bedding if they are required. Short breaks are possible, depending on availability. Smoking and pets are not permitted. Parties only by arrangement with the owner. For those not wanting to climb too many stairs, the house has 2 lower ground floor bedrooms which means only 1 flight down from the entrance/kitchen/dining area/small sitting room and 2 more flights up to the main living room.
