Harbourlights is a family-friendly self-catering holiday cottage in beautiful Broadstairs. Located two streets back from the beach, this property is a hop, skip and a jump from shops, cafes, restaurants and bars like the stylish Sea Lounge, putting everything you need within a short walk from the door. It is very family-friendly, with space for four people to sleep in two bedrooms, a pretty garden, and off-street parking for two cars - a bonus in the busy summer months! The standard of accommodation is excellent, having been awarded 4-Stars by Visit England.
Broadstairs has transformed in recent years. It's been voted by The Times as the UK's best seaside town to live in for its beautiful Blue Flag beaches, excellent amenities and fresh sea air that can't help but put you at ease. You'll feel yourself relaxing the closer you get to this charming town with its independent businesses, including a butcher, farm shops, greengrocer, and sweet shop. There is a wide choice of restaurants and cafes for delicious dinners and lazy brunches with a sea view. More amenities like supermarkets and a multiplex cinema are two miles away in Westwood Cross. A fantastic way to start your holiday is with a free greet with a local volunteer to advise on the best ways for you to get the most out of your time in Broadstairs, whether you're here for food, adventure, historic sights, or easy ways to keep the kids happily entertained so you also get a chance to relax.
Because of its shape, Broadstairs has a vast stretch of coastline that includes Viking, Kingsgate, Louisa, Stone, Botany and Joss Bays. It's south of Margate and north of Ramsgate and Sandwich Bay. There's always a beach with perfect conditions for swimming, surfing, kite-boarding, sitting quietly in a sheltered spot, and building sandcastles. You aren't limited to the coast for entertainment. Local attractions include the Charles Dickens' house, Quex Park, the Spitfire and Hurricane Memorial Museum, and the Micro Museum of vintage computer and video games. Sandwich is a pretty medieval town whose name is known worldwide, while historic Canterbury is only half an hour's drive from Harbourlights. Rent a bicycle and explore the coastline along the Viking Trail, or take a boat tour along the River Stour. There's nothing better than a clifftop walk to Ramsgate for blowing away the cobwebs unless you're a golfer, in which case you'll find three courses and a driving range within 20 minutes.
You can enjoy a holiday at Harbourlights at any time of the year. Broadstairs is busier in the summer and school holidays. However, because it has a thriving community of locals, it gets quieter but doesn't shut down in the off-season.
