North Uist is an island in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland. It is connected by causeway to other islands including Benbecula, Berneray and Baleshare and to can also be reached by ferry from the Isle of Skye. It is known for its freshwater lochs, expansive sandy beaches, and rich ancient history. North Uist is a fishermans and bird watchers paradise and is also popular with cyclists and walkers. The main settlement on the island is the fishing port of Lochmaddy, where you will find a museum, an arts centre and a camera obscura.
