Forge Cottage sleeps up to three guests and is a delightful romantic holiday cottage which is located in a pretty rural location within Exmoor's stunning National Park. It provides the ideal place to escape the pressures of every day life and relax amongst beautiful countryside.
Located in a pretty little lane in the peaceful village of Wootton Courtenay, the cottage is within a short stroll of the village shop and has instant access to footpaths on the Exmoor National Park. There is a good restaurant within walking distance (generally open at weekends) and a pub within two miles which you can also walk to. The cottage offers spacious accommodation for three guests in one double bedroom which also has an additional single bed. There is also a sofa bed in the sitting room.
The Exmoor National Park is vast and encompasses over seventy percent of Somerset and almost thirty percent of Devon with its beautiful rugged countryside. Its diverse landscape is perfect for those who enjoy walking, mountain biking or horse riding with its windswept heather-clad moorland, majestic undulating hills, stunning wooded valleys.
The Medieval village of Dunster is closeby with its yarn market and castle and the lovely National Trust villages of Bossington and Selworthy are too within easy reach.
Whether you simply want to relax, get out and about and discover the pretty little Exmoor villages or have an action packed holiday full of ourdoor adventures, this wonderful location has something for you. Nature lovers can enjoy the vast array of wildlife with wild red deer to spot, buzzards soaring majestically overhead and of course the Exmoor ponies that roam this wonderful landscape.
The area has much to offer with some stunning scenery and view points to take advantage of it at North Hill, Dunkery, Webbers Post, Porlock Hill, Lynmouth and Lynton. Historic sites include Dunster with its impressive Castle, Tarr Steps and a busy calendar of events, fetes, fairs and countryside shows. There are plenty of local events to provide much entertainment for visitors throughout the summer months.
There are plenty of attractions to enjoy: Take a trip on a steam train on the West Somerset Railway, taking you through twenty miles of glorious scenery between Minehead and Bishops Lydeard; for animal lovers, visit Exmoor Zoo, Lynton Alta Alapacas, Tropiquaria or Exmoor Falconry; or alternatively visit one of Exmoor's many museums such as the Watchet Boat Museum or the Bakelite museum.

Additional information: Stabling is available upon request should you want to bring your horse and explore the area by horse back. The cottage is non Smoking and has central heating. Dogs can stay for £25 per week charge. There is an outside area for guests use.
