About 5 North Street

5 North Street dates back to the 19th Century and is a mid-terrace stone holiday cottage ideally positioned on a private lane off the High Street, within walking distance (a third of a mile) from two food serving pubs and village store/post office of Langton Matravers.

Sitting in the centre of the Isle of Purbeck, Langton Matravers is just two and a half miles away from the Dorset coastal town of Swanage with its retail outlets, shops and large supermarket. Approximately eight miles away is Wareham, a historic market town with a fascinating history, and Corfe Castle just four miles away - both easy to reach by car. A bus service also runs regularly (just a short walk from the cottage) to these popular towns, or take a nostalgic ride on a steam train with the Swanage Railway - a lovely way to see the areas highlights on a scenic six mile trip.

Located in a Conservation Area, a great deal of the countryside that surrounds Langton Matravers is classed as being of Outstanding Natural Beauty. From the village you can walk to the country's first natural site Dancing Ledge, a dramatic feature on the Jurassic coast awarded World Heritage Site status.

5 North Street provides a comfy retreat for six guests looking for a relaxing holiday.

The accommodation comprises:

Ground Floor:

  • Welcoming living room with comfy seating, television (Freeview) and DVD/CD player.
  • Separate dining room.
  • Kitchen, well equipped for self-catering with cooker, microwave and fridge/freezer.
  • Utility/lobby area where the washing machine (top loading and automatic) is kept.
  • Bathroom with bath, electric shower, wash basin, WC and heated towel rail.

First Floor:

  • Master bedroom with king-size 5ft bed, wardrobe cupboard and chest of drawers for clothes storage plus nice views that encompass the Purbeck Hills and Swanage Bay.
  • Bedroom two with a standard double bed (4ft 6"), wardrobe and small chest of drawers plus table beside the bed with reading lamp.

Second Floor:

  • Bedroom three with 4ft 6” wide double bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers and views of the Purbeck Hills and Swanage bay).

Outside: Guests have a walled patio garden which is a sun-trap at the back of the property for sitting out and enjoying alfresco dining or a glass of wine in the sunshine. Off-road private parking available for one vehicle (additional unrestricted parking is also available in the High Street), as well as a garden at the front of the cottage.

Additional information: An electric immersion heater provides hot water and the property is heated by night storage heaters.
