About 5 North Street

5 North Street dates back to the 19th Century and is a mid-terrace stone holiday cottage ideally positioned on a private lane off Langton Matravers High Street, within a short walk from the Kings Arms Pub and deli.

Sitting in the centre of the Isle of Purbeck, the ancient stone quarrying village of Langton Matravers is two and a half miles from the Dorset coastal town of Swanage with its retail outlets, shops and supermarkets. Corfe Castle with its fascinating history is only four miles away and a bus service runs regularly (bus stop is a short walk from the cottage) to both these popular towns. Studland bay, with its four mile stretch of sandy beach, is just five miles from the cottage.

Located in a Conservation Area, a great deal of the countryside that surrounds Langton Matravers is classed as being of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Dancing Ledge, a dramatic feature on the Jurassic coast awarded World Heritage Site status, is a thirty minute walk from the cottage across open fields.

Ground Floor:

  • Master bedroom with king-size 5ft bed, two bedside tables with reading lamps, wardrobe, chest of drawers for clothes storage and views of the Purbeck Hills and Swanage Bay.
  • Bedroom two with a standard double bed (4ft 6"), bedside table with reading lamp, wardrobe and small chest of drawers with reading lamp

Second Floor: Bedroom three with 4ft 6” wide double bed, bedside tables with reading lamps, wardrobe, chest of drawers and views of the Purbeck Hills and The Isle of Wight

Outside: Guests have a walled patio garden which is a sun-trap at the back of the property for sitting out and enjoying alfresco dining or a glass of wine in the sunshine. Off-road private parking available for one vehicle (additional unrestricted parking is also available in the High Street), as well as a garden at the front of the cottage.

Additional information: An electric immersion heater provides hot water and the property is heated by night storage heaters.
