The Old Stables is in the scenic Gloucestershire hamlet of Farmcote, a mile from Hailes Abbey, with fantastic views towards the Malvern Hills and mountains of Wales. The two-bedroom holiday cottage is an excellent example of how a self-catering property can have everything you need without feeling fussy or overdone. It is a welcoming, home-away-from-home where couples and families can relax and enjoy the beauty of Cotswold towns, villages, footpaths and cycling routes. Short breaks and longer stays are possible all year round, depending on availability. Why wait to book your trip - you can enjoy everything the Cotswolds can offer from the comfort of The Old Stables.
The Cotswolds are one of the UK's most popular year-round holiday destinations. The gentle landscape is breathtaking in all seasons and every type of weather, from soft spring sunshine to winter frosts. Nowhere is this more evident than here in the Cotswold Escarpment, where views stretch for miles in all directions. The area is sprinkled with remnants of its past, including the remains of the Saxon nave and bellcote at St Faith's Chapel and the Iron Age hillfort at Beckbury Camp. The Old Stables is ideal for walkers who love being close to the Cotswolds Way trail leading to Hailes Abbey and only a few miles from Winchcombe and historic Sudeley Castle.
The closest pub - The Plough at Ford - is just two miles away. Winchcombe (four miles away) has plenty of shops and places to eat and drink. More amenities and markets are nearby in Broadway, Stow-on-the-Wold, and Cheltenham. As well as Sudeley Castle and Hailes Abbey, local attractions include Cheltenham Racecourse, the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Heritage Railway, a Roman villa with mosaics in Spoonley Wood, and National Trust Snowshill Manor and Gardens. Stratford-Upon-Avon is less than an hour away, while Blenheim Palace is not much further.
If you're searching for a holiday cottage that is simple yet comfortable, with long walks and cycling routes accessible from the door in a location that's handy for amenities and attractions, you've found it in The Old Stables.
