Rose Cottage is a very pretty 18th Century holiday cottage that is located in a beautiful Cotswold village with a great pub within walking distance. It is full of features that provide a charming atmosphere including wood burner and delightful cottage garden, and can accommodate four guests.
This is an ideal location for exploring the pretty Cotswold villages and towns along with Oxford, Shakespeare’s Stratford, and the myriad of activities and attractions within the area available all year round. Rose Cottage is ideally position a country lane which becomes a path leading to a pretty little stream that ultimately wends its way to the village.
Upon arrival at Rose Cottage you will be greeted by a welcome pack of tea, coffee, homemade cakes or scones and milk and you will be provided with the little extras you need on holiday like olive oil, cling film, foil etc.
Large windows provide pleasant views both of the garden and the valley beyond, over the rooftops. Beds (king-size and super-king for extra comfort!) are adorned with luxurious linens, and both can be unzipped by arrangement to provide flexibility for those who prefer twin bedrooms. There is also the option to accommodate six guests when the sofa bed on the ground floor is used.
Hook Norton nestles amongst an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is a true Cotswolds gem with a village store for provisions, pottery and its very own popular Victorian brewery with visitors centre. From the village there are plenty of walks (The Cotswold Way runs nearby) and cycle rides in and around the Village, with many more pub-related ones published in the Brewery monthly magazine.
The main village pub is just a stones throw from the cottage and has a great chef and a regularly changing menu. With three other pubs in the Village where you can sample the famous Hooky Ales, you will be spoilt for choice with places to eat and drink (all have roaring fires in the winter!).
For those wanting to explore the area, the cottage is within forty mins of Oxford with it’s stunning Colleges, galleries and museums; Shakespeare’s Stratford-upon-Avon; Woodstock (the home to Blenheim Palace) and the Cotswold villages of Bourton-on-the-Water; Burford and the historic town of Stow-on-the-Wold.
There are many activities in the area to enjoy including fishing on Blenheims historic lakes (fifteen mins), fantastic golf courses (five mins), riding (five mins), pottery lessons (ten mins), hot air ballooning (thirty mins), trial and pleasure flights/ parachuting (fifteen mins), paint balling (thirty mins), punting or boating (thirty mins), shooting (thirty mins) and many more.

Outside: The garden has many beds of flowers and herbs surrounding the seating area, with table and chairs and parasol as it is a sun trap.
Additional information: Prices include linen, towels, logs electricity and gas. Maximum of two dogs allowed but must be kept downstairs.
