Jack's House offers the complete Cotswold holiday cottage package. Tucked away, the cottage is within walking distance of the popular village centre of Bourton-on-the-Water with, shops, cafes, pubs and the River Windrush passing through. The classic holiday home is made from the local honey-coloured stone that typifies properties in this area, with a flowering cottage garden and a private sun-trap patio. The traditional layout sleeps four people in two bedrooms and is ideal for couples or families who want to stay somewhere central yet quiet.
Bourton-on-the-Water is one of the Cotswolds' best-known villages. It's difficult to find a more lovely setting than sitting on the village green and watching the ducks swim under the stone footbridges that cross the gently flowing River Windrush. Although it's a popular tourist attraction, the village has a strong community and staying in this cottage means you can enjoy it after the day-trippers leave. Attractions in Bourton-on-the-Water include the miniature Model Village, Dragonfly Maze, Birdland Park and Gardens, and the Cotswold Motor Museum. If you enjoy a pint (or two) of lager, a tour of the Cotswold Brewery is a must. The brewery is around a mile's walk from the cottage, ideal as they are generous with their samples!
Outside of Bourton-on-the-Water, the beauty of the Cotswold countryside beckons. The picturesque rural landscape is easy to explore by foot or bicycle thanks to an extensive network of footpaths and cycling routes. Local guides offer lots of different types of tours to suit your interests, and bike hire is available from the bike shop in the village. Alternatively, hire a classic car and tour the country lanes in style.
Places to visit include the nearby and walkable Slaughters (Upper and Lower Slaughter), Bibury with the much-photographed Arlington Row, Burford with its boutiques, Stow-on-the-Wold's antique shops and its church's "tree door", and Castle Combe. Stratford-Upon-Avon and Oxford are under an hour's drive for a full day of shopping and sightseeing or bag a bargain at Bicester Designer Outlet Shopping Village. Cheltenham's shops and racecourse are even closer.

Jack's House is a Victorian Cotswold stone property with a timeless feel, giving you the experience of staying in a traditional Cotswold cottage with the addition of modern comforts. Accommodation is over two levels.

Outside: In addition to off-street parking for two cars, the cottage has a lovely garden at the front planted to attract butterflies and bees, and a bench where you can sit and enjoy it. The south-facing sheltered courtyard at the rear is perfect for sipping sundowners or eating breakfast outdoors on a sunny morning.
Additional Information: Utilities, WiFi, bed linen and bath towels are all included. Short breaks are possible, depending on availability. The house is child-friendly. Pets and smoking not permitted.
