Hyde Mill Cottage sleeps up to four guests and is a beautiful detached holiday cottage located in the heart of the Cotswolds. Sitting down a mile long drive within glorious, unspoilt countryside on the River Dikler, this delightful holiday cottage is ideal for a relaxing break or to use as a base from which to explore the Cotswolds and its many attractions.
The cottage is located near to the Mill House (noted in the Domesday Book) and is presented to a high standard, providing a comfy and cosy retreat with open-plan sitting/dining area (including log burner) and kitchen well equipped to cater for all your needs. The heating is provided by a river sourced heat pump, the electricity from solar panels and the water is from the owners' well, ensuring guests enjoy environmentally friendly principals! Both bedrooms have an en-suite (one with a bath and the other a shower) and there are two single beds in each twin bedroom, along with ample space in the cupboard for clothes storage. Guests also have the use of a private tennis court, as well as trout and coarse fishing when in season (from 15th April).
The cottage is just a step away from the footpaths which pass by the Mill and offers access to some of the most stunning rural walks in the Cotswolds. It is an easy walk to the picturesque villages of Lower Slaughter, The Swells, or Bourton-on-the-Water - all offering places for refreshments at the other end! Hyde Mill Cottage sits in a lovely riverside setting where you can see water voles, dippers and notoriously shy kingfisher, along with the owner's Soay sheep which graze the nearby fields. Attractions are plentiful with the Cotswold Farm Park run by Adam Henson and the Cotswold Wildlife Park within easy driving distance, providing great days out for the little ones. The Steam Railway at Toddington provides a relaxed way of seeing the scenery at a leisurely pace, taking you on a thirteen mile journey through rolling Cotswolds countryside. For stocking up on provisions, the historic market town of Stow-on-the-wold offers a great range of independent shops to browse, along with a Tesco supermarket and there are numerous fantastic pubs and restaurants. Golf and horse riding are also available locally.
Other attractions within easy reach include Kiftsgate Court Gardens, Hidcote Gardens, Daylesford Organic Farm Shop and Sudeley Castle - all within twenty minutes by car. Slightly further afield is Cheltenham Racecourse (thirty minutes), making Hyde Mill Cottage ideal for race goers. Stratford-upon-Avon, Oxford, Woodstock (home to Blenheim Palace) and Bicester Shopping Village are too within easy reach (fifty minutes) and it is also possible to visit the Roman City of Bath which offers a multitude of attractions.
