Hyde Mill Cottage sleeps up to four guests and sits in a highly desirable location in the very heart of the Cotswolds, putting it within easy reach of the many Cotswold attractions. Affording a lovely position off a long drive (a mile long!), Hyde Mill Cottage sits alongside the River Dikler and is surrounded by glorious rolling Cotswolds countryside with access to miles of walking on the doorstep.
The cottage is located near to the Mill House (noted in the Domesday Book) and is very well presented throughout, providing a comfy and cosy retreat with open-plan sitting/dining area (including log burner) and kitchen well equipped to cater for all your needs. With eco friendly principals, heating for the cottage is via a river sourced heat pump, solar panels assist with the electricity and a well provides water, allowing you to enjoy your holiday safe in the knowledge you are doing your bit for the environment. Both bedrooms have an en-suite (one with a bath and the other a shower) and there are two single beds in each twin bedroom, along with ample space in the cupboard for clothes storage. There is a tennis court available for guest use on-site and fishing (coarse and trout) when in season. There is also a well equipped Gym which is available by arrangement.
Step out of the door and enjoy access directly onto footpaths taking you from the Mill through glorious countryside to popular places such as The Slaughters (or further on to Bourton-on-the-Water), The Swells, or Stow-on-the-Wold - all with a watering-hole at the other end for refreshment! Hyde Mill Cottage sits in a lovely riverside setting where you can see water voles, dippers and notoriously shy kingfisher, along with the owner's Soay sheep which graze the surrounding fields. Attractions are plentiful with the Cotswold Farm Park run by Adam Henson and the Cotswold Wildlife Park within an easy car ride away, providing great days out for the little ones. The Steam Railway at Toddington provides a relaxed way of seeing the scenery at a leisurely pace, travelling thirteen miles through rolling Cotswolds countryside. For stocking up on provisions, the historic market town of Stow-on-the-wold offers a great range of independent shops to browse, along with a Tesco supermarket and there are numerous fantastic restaurants, cafes and pubs.
Other attractions within easy reach include Kiftsgate Court Gardens, Hidcote Gardens, Daylesford Organic Farm Shop and Sudeley Castle - all within a 20 minute drive. Slightly further afield is Cheltenham Racecourse (thirty minutes), making Hyde Mill Cottage ideal for race goers. Stratford-upon-Avon, Oxford, Woodstock (home to Blenheim Palace) and Bicester Shopping Village are too within easy reach (fifty minutes) or travel a little further and spend the day in Bath's magnificent Roman City packed full of attractions.
