Cei Newydd sleeps up to four guests and is a pretty stone holiday cottage with lime-washed white walls accentuated by pale blue windows and doors to compliment its coastal setting. Ideally positioned, Cei Newydd is less than a mile's walk from the Ceredigion Marine Heritage Coast with its beautiful beaches and waters that attract dolphins and seals.
After extensive refurbishment, Cei Newydd offers everything needed for a comfortable and memorable holiday in this beautiful part of Wales. Beautifully presented throughout, its open-plan layout provides a nice sense of space with a log burner for cosy winter nights, spacious kitchen/diner well equipped for self-catering, and decking for alfresco dining and lawn area where children can play and adults relax. All on one level, Cei Newydd is suitable for wheelchair users and is kept pet-free.
The outside is every bit as enticing as the inside of Cei Newydd. Whether you decide to simply relax in the garden or get out and about exploring, the surrounding area is an oasis of tranquility and a haven for wildlife. The little country lanes, wooded tracks and footpaths provide endless opportunities for walkers. Follow in the footsteps of smugglers and walk to the secluded waters and pebbly beach at Cwmtydu - a beautiful quiet cove nestling amongst National Trust land where you may see seals with their pups in the autumn. Explore the Ceredigion Coastal Path and find your own favourite beach - there are plenty of them dotted along the coastline! Or hop on the Cardi Bach bus which runs between Cardigan and New Quay, linking up all the beaches during the summer months if you don't fancy the walk (the bus has room to accommodate 2 bikes). The area also offers a good number of outdoor activity companies - whether your passion is kayaking, paddle-boarding, sailing or coasteering, there is something for everyone.
New Quay is a lovely seaside town and well known for the popular dolphin spotting boat trips that run from the harbour. You can walk or cycle there from the cottage as it is less than four miles away and offers a good choice of places for a meal out, Blue Flag sandy beaches, water-sports and the Dylan Thomas Trail for lovers of the famous poet. In the opposite direction, Llangrannog also offers a choice of two pubs and cafes and is worth visiting if only to sample the ice cream from the cafe or enjoy fish and chips by the sea!
2019 is the 'Year of Discovery' in Wales so embrace it and explore further afield. The attractive harbour town of Aberaeron with its colourful Georgian houses lining the waters edge is within driving distance as is Cardigan with its castle and Aberystwyth where you can stroll along the promenade or soak up the amazing views from the electric cliff railway.
The choices for day trips out are endless from Cei Newydd but the beauty and tranquility of the surrounding area might make it hard to leave!
