Ty Log is a delightful self-catering log cabin sleeping up to four people, exceptionally well located near to the coastline of Carmarthen. Recently built, Ty Log is presented to a high standard throughout with accessible accommodation that is welcoming and comfy for everyone (including wheelchair users). The owners have blended traditional materials with modern features to create a holiday retreat that can sleep up to four people and is perfect for couples, families and friends. Located on a former working farm, Ty Log is surrounded by beautiful vistas of lush green fields, pretty gardens and ponds attracting birds and wildlife including swallows, swifts, ducks, geese, dragon flies, frogs and even an otter visited, all which makes for great entertainment. The cabin is situated to give privacy and is not over looked by the owners house or the other holiday home. Having two holiday lets within the six acres of land has the advantage of families and friends coming away together but having their own space to retreat to.
Less than five minutes drive away you will find an abundance of wildlife at Green Castle Woods. With carpets of bluebells and wild garlic in spring, wildflower meadows in the summer and impressive waterfalls in the winter, this is a lovely spot to visit at any time of the year.
The Carmarthen coast is delightfully unspoiled and a favourite holiday destination where generations of holiday-makers return year after year for its two quiet unspoilt sandy beaches - The Green and Scott's Bay, the latter of which is especially good for fishing. A Norman castle towers over the village of Llansteffan, just four miles away, and there is also a village store with a cafe and pizzaria, a couple of pubs and a small art gallery. Also on The Green there is another cafe, fish and chips and icecream bars. There is also a boat club close by.
The ancient town of Carmarthen is just a ten-minute drive away. Take a trip on the Gwili Steam Railway, spend a rainy afternoon at the cinema or bowling alley, or embrace the history of this fascinating town. There is a wide variety of places to eat and drink, and you can stock up on provisions at the supermarkets.
There is plenty to see and do whatever season you visit. There are miles of beaches to explore both in Carmarthen and also in nearby Pembrokeshire and The Gower. The Brecon Beacons National Park and Brecfa Forest are less than an hour's drive, offering plenty of footpaths and mountain bike trails leading to impressive views and, being Wales, there is no shortage of castles to discover.
The owners of Ty Log have created a space that is welcoming and comfortable in every season. Guests can sit on the sunny, south-facing deck in the summer or admire the view through double-height windows from the comfort of the sofa in winter, kept cosy by the log burner and triple-glazing. Whether you are enjoying a family holiday with the kids or getting away for a romantic holiday in the Welsh countryside, Ty Log will not disappoint.
Please note: There is no fencing around the ponds so Ty Log might not be suitable for families with young children under 8yrs old.
