About Kingfisher Cottage

Kingfisher Cottage is a traditional end terrace single storey cottagein rural Carmarthenshire. Sleeping four people in two bedrooms, this welcoming holiday home is in the stunning Teifi Valley. It's one of only four holiday cottages on the Dol-Haidd Isaf estate near Newcastle Emlyn, with guests enjoying 40 acres, including a stretch of the River Teifi to fish. It's perfect for couples, families or friends who enjoy fishing and bird watching, yet equally as comfortable for those who want to explore the coast of Cardigan Bay and the Welsh towns and villages that make Ceredigion one of the most underrated holiday destinations in Wales.

The Teifi Valley will take your breath away. Flowing from the Teifi Pools to the sea at Poppit Sands, the Afon Teifi is a haven for fish and birds. The valley is a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and is protected as a Special Area of Conservation. If you stay between April and October and you want to fish the owner will charge £50-£75 per week or £10-£15 per day. Please request this before your arrival. The peaceful riverside location is ideal for birdwatching, something else about which the owner is extremely knowledgeable. To date, 72 species of birds have been spotted at Dol Haidd Isaf - maybe you'll be the one to see the 73rd!

It isn't only anglers and bird watchers who enjoy staying at Kingfisher Cottage. The location is ideal for walking the coast and the countryside. Within a few miles of the cottage are three circular walks, and you're only a short drive from the Wales Coast Path and the Pembrokeshire Coast Path. You might be lucky enough to see bottlenose dolphins as you admire the view over Cardigan Bay or walk along the cliffs past the whitewashed stone chapel at Mwnt. Attractions for days out include the National Wool Museum, the National Coracle Centre at Cenarth Falls, the National Botanic Gardens, and the Tregaron Heritage and Red Kite Centre.
