Mews Cottage is in an amazing location, with access to gardens over-looking the sea and just metres from the beach. Tucked away on a prestigious gated private estate at Aldwick in Bognor Regis, this sympathetically modernised Victorian villa makes a wonderful holiday home for families, with space for six people to sleep in three bedrooms. Shops, cafes, bars and restaurants are all within a strolling distance of the door. The scenic landscape, wealth of attractions and variety of activities make it a fantastic year-round destination for a fun-filled holiday.
Don't wait to unpack. Just drop your bags and head straight for the beach to start your holiday. Wander along the promenade and treat yourself to ice cream as you sit on a bench and watch the windsurfers, SUPers, and yachts from the sailing club next door or throw your wetsuit on and join them on the water. The Victorians developed Bognor Regis as a tourist resort, and its popularity hasn't waned over the centuries. Attractions include the Picturedome Cinema, Promenade Train, Marine Park Gardens, mini-golf, a children's playground, Aldingbourne Country Centre, and historic Bognor Regis Pier. Visit Blake's Cottage, where poet William Blake lived in the early 1800s, enjoy a walk around Hotham Park, or admire the beauty of old churches like St Wilfrid's, St Richard's, and St Mary's in Felpham. There's a large Butlins resort with a spa, theme park rides and other attractions you can access with a day pass.
Bognor Regis has a wide choice of places to eat, drink and shop. If you crave more variety, you’re spoilt for choice with Chichester, Arundel and Littlehampton 20 minutes away. Day trips can include visiting Goodwood House, exploring the South Downs National Park, or touring Brighton. See the stunning mosaics at Fishbourne Roman Palace (largest Roman house in the UK), spot the wildlife at Chichester Harbour in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, enjoy a pub lunch at the quaint quayside pubs in Bosham, see live battles at Arundel castle or just enjoy the view of the castle while you swim in the open-air Lido or experience history as you stroll around Weald and Downland Living Museum set in the nearby south downs. Portsmouth is half an hour away, with a historic harbour, lots of shops and restaurants, and a regular car and foot-passenger ferry service to the Isle of Wight. There's an entire coastline to explore and a full calendar of events celebrating everything from cars to food, vintage living, music and Christmas.
Mews Cottage has off-street parking, a panoramic view over the English Channel from the shared gardens, and a path leading directly to the beach. It's the sort of place you can park the car and forget about it for the week, or explore far and wide, seeing somewhere different every day.
