Rose Cottage is in an idyllic rural location close to the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), Offa's Dyke and the Welsh border. The three-bedroom cottage comfortably sleeps up to seven people with plenty of space both indoors and outside, and views that encompass Shropshire, Herefordshire and Powys.
The cottage is on Hicks Farm, where the owners' family has raised livestock (currently sheep and pigs) for more than a century. There is always something fun to see and do whether it's helping to bottle feed orphaned lambs, giving the pigs an appreciated scratch on the back or spotting a multitude of birds and wildlife that also call the farm their home. Rose Cottage is one of two self-catering holiday cottages on the farm, sharing excellent facilities that include a heated indoor swimming pool, games room and adventure playground. The cottages are private and separate from each other but can, depending on availability, be booked together to accommodate up to 21 people (plus five babies).
Rose Cottage has its own BBQ cabin in the garden - perfect for planning a barbeque without worrying about the weather forecast! The cabin is great for anytime of the year.
Being four miles from Presteigne, six miles from Knighton and within reach of Hereford and Ludlow makes Rose Cottage an excellent year-round destination. There are wonderful countryside walks and mountain bike trails nearby, as well as friendly towns and villages with excellent local shops, cafes and pubs selling delicious produce grown in the farms and orchards around the area.
Enjoy walking on the farm - follow the Corvid Trail and spot the hidden metal birds on the route. Relax by the stream on our memorial bench whilst the children explore the stream - fishing nets provided!!
Fun days out can include visiting Hereford Cathedral and seeing the Mappa Mundi, marvelling at the fantastic black and white buildings in Ludlow, walking in the footsteps of a king along Offa's Dyke, exploring beautiful gardens and ancient castles or even learning a new skill like cheese making.
The owners of Rose Cottage have been welcoming visitors to their farm since 1992 and understand their guests' needs, surprising visitors with thoughtful touches that make it feel like a genuine home-away-from-home.

Rose Cottage has a traditional layout with the living space downstairs and bedrooms on the upper level. The house is beautifully furnished and decorated throughout, with thoughtful additions like hairdryers and clock radios in all of the bedrooms with fast Starlink WiFi throughout.

Outside: The garden at Rose Cottage is fenced and there is a BBQ cabin, garden furniture and outdoor toys. There is off-street parking for up to five cars. Guests also have access to the farm's indoor swimming pool, games room and adventure playground.
Additional Information: Super fast Starlink WiFi inside and outside properties, games room and BBQ cabins. Short breaks are available all year round depending on availability. Well behaved pets are welcome with prior agreement from the owner. Smoking is permitted but not in the Pool Barn leisure facilities as these are public areas with a non-smoking policy.
