Wye Knot cottage is a pet friendly bungalow sitting on the edge of the historic market town of Bakewell in the heart of the Peak District National Park. It is conveniently located for all the amenities of town with a fantastic selection of pubs, restaurants and shops on your doorstep, yet is tucked away in a peaceful location. Sleeping four guests in two bedrooms and with central heating throughout, this single storey holiday cottage is ideal for families and friends all year round.
The pretty town of Bakewell is a delight at any time of the year. Whilst most well known for the infamous Bakewell Pudding, you will also find specialist markets, independent shops, art galleries and a selection of tea rooms as well as a play area for children and an indoor swimming pool. Enjoy a stroll along the River Wye, take a tour of Thornbridge Brewery or visit The Old House Museum to learn more about the history of the area. As well as regular markets, Bakewell has a busy calendar of events that run thougout the year. From Carnival week in July to the Food Festival in April and the Christmas Tree Festival in December there is always something going on in this bustling little town.
If you want to explore further afield there are plenty of activities and attractions for all ages. The Derbyshire White Peaks is a haven for walkers with a number of fantastic walks that start from the front door. Head across the fields to Haddon Hall, explore Lathkill Dale or walk to Ashford in the Water where you can enjoy a pub lunch and a game of Pooh sticks. Alternatively, explore the traffic free Monsal trail which starts in Bakewell. Perfect for walking, cycling and even horse riding, this trail runs for eight and a half miles along the former Midland Railway line passing through tunnels, over a viaducts and through stunning Derbyshire scenery.
Carsington Water and the market town of Ashbourne are just two of the many attractions within easy reach, along with Haddon Hall, Chatsworth House and Gardens, Matlock Bath, the spa town of Buxton, Alton Towers, Gulliver's Kingdom and Speedwell Cavern at Castleton with its incredible cave system to name just a few.

Outside: The pretty garden is a lovely spot to relax at the end of the day. There is outdoor furniture and a lawn. Off-road parking is available.
Additional information: Children and up to three (or possibily more by arrangement) well behaved dogs are welcome with no extra charge. Guests are welcome to arrive between 3 pm and 11 pm on the day of arrival and check out time is 10 am on the day of departure. Short breaks (two night minimum) are available depending on availability - please enquire with the owner.
