The Old Barn near Ashbourne is spacious, stylish and oh-so comfortable. Six gorgeous ensuite bedrooms provide accommodation for you and up to 13 of your favourite people, giving you a wonderfully welcoming place where you can unwind and enjoy the best that Derbyshire and the Peak District National Park can offer. The holiday home is in the tiny hamlet of Swinscoe, barely half a mile from the Dog & Partridge pub, and full of authentically rustic charm that only comes from a building built with care and skillfully repurposed with love. The flexible layout makes it ideal for anything from a hen weekend to a walking holiday with friends for your 60th or a Christmas reunion with your extended family.
Swinscoe is peacefully picturesque, with beautiful views in all directions. Despite the idyllic rural atmosphere, it's handy for the M1, M6 and A50, making it easy to reach. You won't have to worry about driving down endless black country lanes trying to find the place or finding obscure spots to get a mobile signal when you're here. Instead, you'll enjoy all the benefits of the countryside with the usual conveniences that make a holiday stress-free. You can drive to any of the major supermarkets within ten minutes or, if you prefer, arrange for your shopping to be delivered to the door after your arrival.
An enormous variety of sights and activities are on the doorstep of The Old Barn. The area is rich with trails for walking, rambling, mountain biking or horseriding, with both the Peak District and the Staffordshire Moors nearby. Local attractions range from thrilling rides at Alton Towers, just six miles away, to the historic potteries 17 miles away in Stoke-on-Trent and the jaw-dropping magnificence of the house, collections, and gardens at Chatsworth Estate. Bakewell and Buxton are both around half an hour's drive, and you're also within easy reach of Leek and Derby.
