About Mixon View

Mixon View is a brand new barn conversion in the Peak District. The super-stylish holiday home combines 5 Star luxurious accommodation, superb views and a fantastic location to give couples and small families a holiday they'll never forget. The cottage is down a private track and away from passing traffic, so it's secluded and the ideal place for a romantic retreat or an individual escape. There are spectacular walks and bike rides through the national park and the nearby Staffordshire countryside. The setting is breathtaking in every season, and there are lots of attractions, towns and villages to keep you happily occupied during your stay.

The cottage is within the courtyard of the 17th century Lane Head Farm near Onecote village. It's perfect for exploring the Manifold Valley, Hartington and Leek. It's a picturesque village with panoramic views and footpaths that take hikers to Morridge, The Roaches, Tittesworth, and Ramshaw Rocks. The busy Market town of Leek is only four miles or a 10-minute drive from Mixon View. Once one of the leading textile towns in England, it has all the independent shops and other amenities that make a self-catering holiday easy to arrange. You can shop for your groceries at indoor and outdoor markets and family-run butchers, greengrocers, and bakers.

Local attractions include scenic Rudyard Lake and Tittesworth Water. Brindley's Mill and Cheddleton Flint Mill showcase the area's industrial heritage, or you can tour the beautiful Dovedale and Manifold Valleys. Cycle along the Monsal Trail, admire the splendour of Chatsworth House and Gardens or get your thrills on the rides at Alton Towers. Other places to visit include Ilam Park and the famous Stoke Potteries.

Mixon View is one of two wonderful holiday properties at Lane Head Barns, the other being spacious Morridge View which sleeps ten people in five bedrooms. Accommodation Comprises:

Mixon View is beautifully presented with oak flooring and a solid oak staircase, natural fabrics and soft colours that reflect the rural surroundings. Accommodation is over two levels.

Downstairs:

  • Keeping the layout open plan lets in natural light from both sides of the cottage and suits modern lifestyles. White walls and light flooring increases the sense of light and space.
  • Seating area with a leather sofa and an armchair with a footstool, a 43-inch wall-mounted smart TV, and a log burner. Glass doors open onto the terrace and frame stunning views of fields and countryside. There's a small dining table perfect for romantic meals for two.
  • Fully fitted kitchen well-equipped for self-catering. The owners haven't cut any corners just because this is a one-bedroom cottage. You'll find high-quality appliances, crockery, pots, pans and all of the other bits and pieces a quality kitchen has. There's also a dishwasher and a washing machine.

Upstairs:

  • A stylish oak staircase rises to the mezzanine bedroom furnished with an oak framed kingsized bed, a wardrobe with a drawer, and a comfortable armchair for relaxing with a good book. The bed is made up for your arrival.
  • Spacious ensuite with a shower, WC, and twin washbasin. Bath towels are provided.

Outside: Paved terrace with a table and chairs to sit and drink in the panoramic views over fields where sheep graze happily. There is off-street parking for one car and secure storage for bicycles.

Additional Information: Utilities, WiFi, bed linen and bath towels are included. A travel cot is provided with guests to supply cot bedding. As the owner raises livestock, they regret they are unable to accept pets. Smoking is not permitted.
