Highfields Barn is nestled within the parish of Onecote in the Staffordshire Moorlands on the Southern edge of the Peak District National Park. Ideally located to explore the Limestones Dales of the White Peak in the South and the rugged Dark Peak to the North. The barn is part of Highfields Farm, which comprises of 40 acres, predominantly pasture with traditional hay meadows, where we graze our small flock of the lovable Herdwick sheep. Highfields Barn is located in a beautiful, peaceful, quiet and scenic area of the Peak District surrounded by pastures, meadows and moorland. A wonderful place to relax. The barn is approached via a stoned farm track, just under a mile long (please note, not suitable for very low-slung vehicles). Highfields Barn a great place to stay, providing flexible accommodation to meet the needs of your holiday and the number of people within your group. Highfields Barn is a beautifully renovated barn sleeping up to eight people in four bedrooms. Couples and solo travellers have the option of exclusively booking the ground floor bedroom, keeping the upstairs closed off and enjoying a reduced rate.

At 1,400 feet, the views are impressive, and there are some fantastic footpaths and mountain bike trails from which to enjoy them. Favourite walking routes include Mam Tor, the Roaches, from Cheadle to Dilhorne, Kingsley to Consall, and Leek via the Caldon Canal and Ladderedge Country Park. Mountain bikers also have a vast choice of single track and bridleways to help them explore. Don't miss a visit to scenic Rudyard Lake for walking, cycling, fishing, canoeing and sailing. Carsington Water and Tittesworth Reservoir are also blissful spots for walking, watersports and birdwatching.
There is a wonderful selection of things to do and see while you're staying at Highfields Barn. Chatsworth House is around 20 miles from the barn, close to the historic market town of Bakewell with its delicious puddings and busy Monday market. Swap the grand surroundings of Chatsworth for the excitement of Alton Towers, 12 miles from Highfields Barn, or spend a rainy day underground exploring Blue John's Cavern, Speedwell Cavern, and Peak Cavern. There are stately homes, gorgeous gardens and well-curated local museums, and vibrant towns with a great variety of places to eat, drink and shop.
You'll never be far from a glorious view when you stay at Highfields Barn. Whether your visit is for adventure, relaxation, or a bit of both, the location of the barn is perfect in every season.

The ground floor of Highfields Barn was where the original farm kept cattle in winter, storing hay and feed on the upper storey. The owners have incorporated original stone walls and solid oak beams in the renovated barn, adding lots of modern luxuries to ensure it is welcoming and comfortable all year round.

Outside: Highfields Barn has a private south-facing terrace paved with local flagstones. There are benches and an area to use a disposable barbecue. The cottage is at the end of a mile-long country lane that is not suitable for very low slung cars. There is allocated parking and secure storage for bicycles. Please note: the charging of electric cars is not available at this property.
Additional Information: Utilities, WiFi, bed linen and bath towels are included as is a starter pack of wood and kindling for the log burner. The water is supplied by the farm's private borehole. Bottled water for drinking will be provided for your stay. A travel cot (cot bedding on request), highchair, stairgate and fireguard are all available on request. Pets and smoking/vaping are not allowed on site.
Short breaks are available to book from a Friday or Saturday 3-4 nights. Weekly stay from a Saturday.
