Emily Barn is a delightful converted stone barn, set in the beautiful Peak District Village of Carsington. Converted from 17th century stone milking barns, Emily Barn provides tastefully furnished, well equipped, character holiday accommodation that is set in a pretty Peak District village location.
The barn ideal for families who want to holiday together, a reunion of friends or for people who want to celebrate a special occasion.
Carsington is an ideal base from which to explore the Peak District and its many places of interest. There are numerous attractions on the doorstep with Carsington Water (a huge reservoir offering great water sports) just a few minutes away. Chatsworth House and Gardens, the market town of Bakewell, Hardwick Hall, Haddon Hall and popular Alton Towers are too within easy reach and just a little further away.
The village location makes the Emily Barn perfect for strolling down the lane to the pub of a lunchtime or evening where you can enjoy good local ale and food. Afterwards, why not stretch your legs and take a short walk to Carsington Water.
Throughout the local area there are numerous fantastic walks with many starting from the front door. For the more energetic guests, enjoy walking or cycling around Carsington Water (eight miles); go horse riding, rock climbing, sailing, kayaking or windsurfing; along with bird watching, fishing and golf for something a little more sedate - a wildlife haven with plenty of things to suit all energy levels.

Emily Barn Continued
Emily's Barn sleeps sixteen guests (plus two) and was originally three barns joined together. Today it has glazed doors to the east and west elevations, including four wide cart openings all of which are now glazed, creating a bright and sunny environment to relax in.
Most of the accommodation is on ground floor, with a few internal steps. Lovely stone flags, rugs and solid oak flooring with under floor heating add to the charm and comfort of this lovely holiday cottage.
- A combination of bedrooms and sleeping areas can accommodate sixteen plus guests. The ground floor has two double bedrooms, one family room with a king-size bed (plus additional single and trundle beds) and also an extra double room with sofa bed and futon. The Hayloft has a double and triple bedroom and there is a double sofa bed in the lounge so lots of options for additional sleeping and flexibility often needed for a large party.
- Family bathroom plus a further three shower rooms with WC's and wash basins.
- Kitchen with double oven, combination microwave, electric hob, dishwasher, two fridges and large freezer.
- Separate dining area which seats twelve around a large oak dining table - additional seating can be combined.
- Adjacent lounge which provides comfortable sofas and chairs, television and music system.
Additional information: Separate parking for five to six cars is available on site adjacent to the croft. All prices are fully inclusive of heating, electricity, bed linen and tea-towels. Bath towels can be provided at a small additional charge. Short breaks are available and a flexible changeover day may be offered.
