Netherton Hall sits in the sleepy little Derbyshire hamlet of Bradbourne on the edge of the Peak District National Park and is home to four welcoming holiday homes that are perfect for couples, families and friends and only ten minutes drive from either Ashbourne or Wirksworth.
There is a large twelve metre indoor heated swimming pool which is located behind Winn Cottage and is for guest use only, which is fabulous especially with a large group or children. The cottages and house are Grade II listed and still retain lovely original character, beautifully blended with modern conveniences and environmentally friendly principles where possible, to provide a high standard of comfort and style.
Each with its own individual character, the cottages provide a warm welcome and are popular with those who like outdoor activities offering superb walking, cycling and hacking straight from the doorstep. Three of the cottages (Winn, Haven and Dumble) can also be booked together to accommodate larger parties of up to fourteen, allowing families to holiday together whilst enjoying a good degree of personal space and privacy.
The immediate area: The local area offers plenty to see and do. Spend your days walking to the unspoilt picturesque village of Tissington or Brassington, another 'jewel' in the Derbyshire Dales crown with a good pub (The Old Gate) for refreshment at the other end. The Red Lion is also worth walking to at Hognaston, or stroll up the lane to The Knockerdown for supper (just a mile away and a very good family friendly pub serving food). Browse the shops and stock up on local goodies in the nearby market towns of Ashbourne and Wirksworth; or splash around at Carsington Water (just a mile from Netherton Hall) where you can try kayaking, sailing and fishing, as well as lovely walks and cycle rides around this beautiful large reservoir.
Other attractions: Still within easy reach are some of the Peak District's most popular attractions including the impressive stately home of Chatsworth House; Haddon hall, a spectacular Tudor country home; Heights of Abraham for a birds eye view of the glorious Derbyshire scenery; Alton Towers (sure to be a holiday highlight with younger party members); Gullivers Kingdom, another popular theme park; Kedleston Hall (National Trust); the much loved beauty sport of Dove Dale (don't forget the picnic!); Crich Tramway Village with its national museum; the market town of Bakewell; and Ilam Park with over one hundred and fifty acres of country park to explore (dogs welcome!).
With easy access onto the Tissington Trail, High Peak Trail and the Pennine Bridleway, as well as an abundance of attractions within easy reach, plus a fantastic indoor heated pool on-site, Netherton is an excellent choice for those who like to be active, explore or simply relax on holiday.

Netherton Hall nestles amidst almost two hundred acres of rolling grassland in a lovely heather and gorse filled valley dotted with landmarks, from which each cottage takes its name. Perfect for those who want to tuck themselves away to relax and unwind, each cottage has been beautifully designed and had its individuality enhanced by contemporary fittings nicely blended with antique items of furniture to complement the age of the buildings.
All four cottages are family-friendly, non-smoking and three welcome dogs (Wood Shed Cottage is kept pet free for those with allergies). Each one affords lovely views and has a log burner for cosy nights, as well as under-floor heating.
Dumble Cottage is featured in this advert and is a snug and welcoming bolt-hole just for two (plus a child under two), tucked away in a peaceful spot.

Outside: Guests staying at Dumble Cottage have a private enclosed patio area with outdoor furniture, BBQ and chimnea for alfresco dining. There is a paddock behind the cottages which provides access to the stream - stroll down and enjoy a 'sun downer', it's a magical spot for relaxing.
Additional information: WiFi internet access. Guests have the shared use of the communal washing room with tumble dryer and washing machine (operated on a coin basis). Prices include bed linen, towels, electricity, heating and a welcome supply of logs for the fire. Two dogs are accepted in the dog-friendly cottages at an additional charge of £20 per dog to cover additional cleaning. Changeover days are Friday and Monday and short breaks are offered all year round.
