Fountain Villas is a charming Grade II listed Georgian property in the beautiful town of Matlock Bath and within walking distance of shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. There is space for up to 16 people to sleep in seven bedrooms, making it perfect for Christmas in the Derbyshire Dales with your extended family, milestone birthday celebrations, or a group holiday in the Peak District with your favourite friends.
Matlock Bath is an excellent choice for a holiday destination at any time of the year. Everything you need is on the doorstep, including beautiful walks along the river, parks, gardens and a children's play area. One of the town's landmarks, Jubilee Bridge, is opposite the house, putting you in the heart of this historic town.
Visiting Matlock Bath is not a new activity. It has been a tourist hotspot for more than 200 years and the love people had for staying here is evident in the gorgeous period buildings - including 98 Fountain Villas - which are a characteristic of the town. Favourite local attractions include the Heights of Abraham and its cable cars, the towering face of High Tor, Matlock Bath Aquarium and the Peak District Lead Mining Museum. All of these places are within walking distance of the house, as is Gulliver's Kingdom theme park.
The Peak District National Park and places like Bakewell, Buxton, Eyam plague village, Haddon Hall, the Monsal Head Viaduct, Crich Tramway Village, and the magnificent Chatsworth House are only a short drive away, with many also accessible by public transport from 98 Fountain Villas.
The countryside surrounding Matlock Bath is breathtaking in every season, which is one reason this area is a favourite holiday destination for its many repeat visitors. A short walk to help get your bearings goes from Matlock to Pic Tor, with other way-marked routes including the circular path to the neighbouring villages of Bonsall and Cromford. Cycling and mountain biking are also popular, including along the traffic-free High Peak Trail. Carsington Water has a host of activities like sailing and cycling just eight miles from the house.
Whatever your reason for choosing to stay at 98 Fountain Villas, you and your guests will be delighted that you did. The location means there is always a choice of activities regardless of the weather or the season, while the high standard of accommodation ensures guests can relax, unwind and enjoy their stay.
