Nestled in the heart of glorious Northumberland, only four miles from the stunning coastal village of Bamburgh, the cottage is the ideal place to stay when exploring this iconic coastline with its miles of sandy beaches and many historic sites. Lindisfarne, Alnwick and Warkworth are all within easy reach of the cottage.
A charming stone-built barn conversion set amongst the gorgeous Northumberland Countryside, four miles from the picture postcard village of Bamburgh. Tastefully converted, this cottage is perfect for couples or small families seeking a relaxing rural setting close to the Heritage Coast. This cosy conversion offers open plan living with a warming woodburner upon arrival with generous seating surrounding. The kitchen/ diner is a fabulous space offering all appliances needed for the designated chef to delight, however, if the chef in your party fancies the night off; head to Bamburgh and take your pick from the variety of restaurants and bars on offer which serve very tasty food for the whole family to enjoy together.
Once the night draws in, head upstairs to the comfortable bedrooms with all the essentials on hand for a great night’s rest. To the front of Annie Oswalds, you’ll find a patio area, a great sunny spot with some pretty potted plants and features ideal with a glass of something cold! The magical history of Northumberland is all waiting to be discovered just a short drive from Annie Oswalds with dominant castles and endless beaches all within easy reach. Located perfectly between the village of Belford and the scenic coastal village of Bamburgh, Adderstone is an attractive and accessible rural area, ideally positioned in the heart of the Northumbrian countryside. It’s perfect for those wishing to explore the many historic and iconic local sites nearby starting with Bamburgh; there is much to do in the village alongside the castle and its amazing history, there are impressive stretches of pure golden sandy beaches, many English tea rooms and restaurants, St. Aidan’s Church and a newly renovated museum dedicated to Grace Darling.
Why not hit the waves with a trip to the Farne Islands? Take a boat trip from Seahouses and see the medieval Pele Tower and Victorian Lighthouse, as well as the famous sea bird colony. Depending on the time of year, you might catch a glimpse of the friendly seals and puffins that visit the islands’ shores. Golfers flock to Bamburgh, where the Bamburgh Castle Golf Club offers a particularly picturesque round. A short trip south brings you to the Historic Market Town of Alnwick. You must start your trip at the famous Alnwick Castle, one of the largest inhabited castles in the UK and used as Hogwarts when filming scenes for the Harry Potter films so it’s a must-visit for any fans, with Harry Potter related events organised here throughout the year as well as guided tours. Downstairs
There is a lovely open plan living area, with a well-appointed kitchen with double oven, hob, microwave and dishwasher, and all the crockery and cutlery you may need. A large, solid wood dining table provides ample dining space for family and friends. The lounge area features comfy seating, a smart TV and a wood burning stove for cosy evenings. There is a high quality bluetooth speaker for your music or radio. Good wi-fi coverage is provided throughout the property.
Upstairs
The bright King Size master bedroom features 2 windows and a skylight overlooking the courtyard. A wall mounted TV is carefully situated so you can enjoy your favourite programmes without leaving the comfortable bed. The 2nd bedroom comprises of 2 full size single beds with a view to the lovely courtyard. Both bedrooms have plenty of storage for your belongings. The bathroom features a large walk in shower to help you recharge after a long day out, as well as WC, basin and heated towel rail. All rooms are finished to a high standard.
Outside
There is a sunny patio with a barbecue, table and 4 comfortable chairs where you can enjoy a relaxing meal, or afternoon drink. It's also a great place to view the stars!
