About Lily’s Cottage

Lily's Cottage is on the shore of the River Bure in Wroxham, the "Capital of the Broads". You can't get better riverside views than from this waterfront holiday cottage, which sleeps four people in two bedrooms. There is space for a cot, and the layout suits couples and families, including those with dogs. Whether you enjoy the views from the sofa, bedroom or your private deck, watching the gentle pace of life on the river is one of the most blissfully relaxing pastimes. The modern kitchen is well-equipped for simple or sophisticated self-catering, and you are within a five-minute walk of Wroxham's plentiful restaurants, bars and shops like Roys of Wroxham.

Wroxham is the busiest town in the Norfolk Broads, but it's bustling rather than hectic. Life is centred around the river, and, as such, it never feels hurried. You can't rush nature. Why would you want to when it's such a pleasure to give in and slow down? There are lots of ways to enjoy the beauty of the Broads. Set up your fishing pole on the deck and snooze in the sunshine. Hire a boat, canoe or kayak to navigate the Broads' famous waterways, stopping at a riverside pub for a leisurely lunch. Explore on foot or bicycle, taking in glorious views along miles of footpaths and cycling routes, including The Three Rivers Way between Hoveton and Horning.

Away from the river, day trips can include discovering charming Norfolk towns and villages like Horning, Potter Heigham, Ludham, and Coltishall. Bring your binoculars to nature reserves at Hickling, Ranworth, Cockshoot Broad, or Thorpe Marshes. The national park's protected environment is a haven not only for countless species of birds like kingfishers, grebes, and marsh harriers but also for otters, water voles, and Chinese water deer. Great Yarmouth is only half an hour's drive from Lily's Cottage, with a long sandy beach and all the fun of a traditional seaside resort. You're also only twenty minutes from Norwich's beautifully preserved medieval buildings. Other local attractions include beWILDerwood, the Bure Steam Valley Railway, Wroxham Miniature Worlds, Wroxham Barns, Thrigby Hall Wildlife Gardens, and the SEA LIFE Centre.

Lily's Cottage is a well-presented modern holiday home in a residential riverside area.

Downstairs:

  • Practical laminate floors are ideal for guests with children or dogs, yet stylish enough to match the rest of the chic decor in the open-plan living/dining room. The large corner sofa seats four.
  • You'll love lingering over meals at the dining table that looks out through French doors to the boats on the river. The elegant glass table seats four with room for a highchair, which can be provided on request.
  • The modern kitchen also features fantastic views together with high-quality appliances, equipment and utensils.

Upstairs:

  • Both bedrooms are beautifully furnished with comfortable beds and proper storage. Bed linen and bath towels are included. The master bedroom has a double bed, a wardrobe, and bedside tables with reading lights.
  • The other bedroom features two full-sized single beds and storage.
  • A family bathroom has a shower over the bath, WC and a handbasin.

Outside: Lily's Cottage has a waterfront deck and off-street parking.

Additional Information: Utilities, WiFi, bed linen and bath towels are included. Two dogs are welcome by arrangement and for a small surcharge. Smoking is not allowed indoors.
