About Bure Cottage

Bure Cottage is a cozy and comfortable waterside cottage sleeping up to four guests in two bedrooms and sits in an enviable position within the Peninsular Marina, an exclusive waterside haven located alongside the River Bure in Wroxham, known as the 'capital' of the glorious Norfolk Broads. Ideal as a romantic retreat for couples and also for a family holiday, the cottage enjoys a sunny position, views of the river from the bedroom and is just a stone's throw from a private dyke.

This is a perfect place to escape the pressures of everyday life, where you can sit back on the large communal lawn overlooking the river and watch the boats go by or feed the swans and ducks. Alternatively, try your luck at fishing or simply relax with a good book and a glass of wine on a sunny day. The small private terrace seating area is an ideal place to be at the end of the day where you can watch the activity on the water slowly winding down.

The extensive and peaceful communal riverside gardens provide a tranquil place to relax and lounge. Why not hire a boat to explore the magical waterways, or take a cruise trip down the river from Wroxham and sit back and let someone else show you the sights?  The area is a haven for wildlife and pretty, unspoilt villages. Traditional riverside pubs, windmills and lakes pepper the surrounding landscape. There are also a plethora of attractions to suit all ages including the Bure Valley Steam Railway for a nostalgic relaxed way of exploring the countryside; Bewilderwood Park for the little ones; Hoveton Hall Gardens; the vibrant medieval city of Norwich (just a fifteen minute drive away or a half hour bus journey) and the Norfolk coastline including Sheringham, Cromer and Great Yarmouth for some traditional seaside fun, to name just a few. Visit Blakeney, Horsey Beach or Winterton to see the large population of Grey Seals swimming in the sea and lounging around on the beach. Visit in winter months to see the cute fluffy new-born pups sunning themselves among the sand dunes.

Wroxham itself has much to offer and is just a five minute stroll from Bure Cottage. Here you have a great choice of places to eat, along with shops and a railway station (you can take a train to Norwich for the day to explore the city).

Whether you are looking for a waterside retreat from which to simply relax or a base for exploring the Norfolk Broads including its wonderful waterways, Bure Cottage provides a warm welcome and a superb place to spend a holiday.
