Meadow Grove bungalow is a comfortable holiday home for couples wanting to explore the beautiful landscape and charming villages and picturesque towns in Wayland, Norfolk. Located next to the owner’s home in the ancient market town of Watton, there is plenty to do just a short stroll from the front door. A walk around the Watton Heritage Trail is a great way to explore the historical sites of this pretty town, or while away an afternoon browsing the independent shops and museum. Whilst the well-equipped kitchen at Meadow Grove provides everything you need for a self-catering holiday, there are also numerous pubs and restaurants in Watton if you would prefer a night off cooking.
Keen walkers can explore Wayland’s pretty wooded countryside and wetlands. The Peddars Way footpath, which also links up with the Great Eastern Pingo Trail, runs through the middle of Wayland. The fascinating 'pingos' (or shallow ponds) are a haven for wildlife and if you are lucky you might even spot a rare Emerald Damselfly. Alternatively, enjoy a leisurely stroll along the trails in Wayland Wood. If you are looking for a day out, Melsop Farm Park is also nearby, or you can enjoy a round of golf at Richmond Park Golf Course which is a five minute walk away.
Just ten miles away you will find Thetford Forest. Not only are there numerous walks and mountain bike trails to explore but you can fly through the trees on a Go Ape adventure or head off road on a Forest Segway. If you are looking to do something a bit different you can visit the prehistoric flint mines at Grimes Graves. For a change of scenery head to the city of Norwich. Whilst the medieval Cathedral and Norman castle can’t be missed, there is also plenty of charming cobbled streets lined with boutique shops and cafes.
Guests can also get their fill of sea air and enjoy lazy days on the beach with Norfolk's stunning coast just an hours drive away. As well as wide sandy beaches, there are numerous pretty seaside villages, fascinating marshlands and quays to explore. There really is something for everyone in this beautiful corner of Norfolk!
