Bay Tree Cottage is in the pretty Norfolk village of East Runton - a place so picturesque that first-time visitors may feel as if they have walked onto a film set. Guests are within walking distance of all of the village amenities that include a well-stocked village store, two pubs, a teashop and a butcher, as well as two village commons and a playground. And that's before you even get to the beach, which is about a 5-minute stroll from the front door. The cottage is a proper home-away-from-home and perfect for families as it sleeps up to five people in three bedrooms, although the layout is also comfortable for couples.
East Runton is ideal for a seaside holiday. The long, sandy beach is rarely crowded, has lots of space to build sandcastles and rock pools to explore at low tide. It also has a lifeguard in the summer holidays, which is reassuring for parents, and consistently good conditions that make it popular with surfers. The cliffs around East Runton and West Runton beaches are good for fossil hunting, though you probably won't find another mammoth fossil skeleton like the one found at West Runton in 1990! The glitzy attractions of Cromer Pier are a 15-minute walk along the sand, and Sheringham is also close by.
Wander around the beautiful house and grounds at Felbrigg Hall, walk or cycle through Sheringham Park, take a journey on the North Norfolk Steam Railway which goes between Sheringham and Holt, or pat the beautiful residents at the West Runton Shire Horse Centre. A boat trip from Blakeney or Morston to see local grey seals is a memory you will never forget, and a day at Amazon Zoo is always fun. Cromer Pier is a fantastic year-round attraction whether you're having an ice-cream and a game in the arcades on a hot summer day, or escaping from the weather for a hot cup of tea after a blustery beach walk.
The owners of Bay Tree Cottage have thought of everything so their guests can arrive and settle in immediately, enjoying a relaxed seaside holiday with minimal effort or fuss.
