Set amongst two acres of communal gardens, the spacious two bedroom property is equally welcoming to couples and solo guests who want to enjoy the best of the New Forest National Park and the wider Hampshire area without sacrificing peace or privacy for the sake of a convenient location. Lyndhurst is a great choice for visitors who prefer to leave their cars behind. There are mainline train stations within five miles of the cottage at Brockenhurst and Ashurst, and the cottage has secure storage for guests who bring or hire bicycles. In summer, open-top bus tours let you effortlessly explore.
The bustle and diversity of businesses in Lyndhurst has earned it the nickname as the "capital of the New Forest". It has all you'll need for a self-catering stay, with a small supermarket, cafes and restaurants joining the pubs popular for a post-walk pint and delicious meals for the times you don't want to cook. Orientate yourself at the excellent New Forest Heritage Centre before paying your respects at the grave of Alice Hargreaves, the namesake of Alice in Wonderland, in the churchyard of St Michael and All Angels Church. Paths close to the cottage lead to local beauty spots that include Bolton's Bench and the Pondhead bluebell woods, or spend a few hours walking around the Bolderwood Deer Sanctuary.
From your holiday cottage in Lyndhurst, you can explore the rest of the New Forest National Park and the wider Hampshire area. Anyone tempted by the views of the Isle of Wight across the Solent can take a ferry from Lymington Harbour, or maybe you'd prefer the view from Henry VIII's imposing fortress at Hurst Castle. The Bothy is a traditional single-storey holiday cottage on a small estate, surrounded by two acres of shared gardens on which you're likely to see deer grazing at dawn & dusk. Central heating ensures it's always a welcoming temperature.
Outside: There is parking for two cars right outside the cottage.
Additional Information: Utilities, WiFi, bed linen and bath towels are provided. Dogs and smoking are not permitted.
