Robin's Nest is in the heart of Fordingbridge, a traditional market town on the banks of the River Avon. All you need for a wonderfully relaxing holiday is nearby, including three welcoming pubs serving local ales and delicious food, shops, cafes and other amenities. Escape to the peace and beauty of the New Forest National Park in this charming self-catering holiday cottage furnished to sleep two adults in one twin bedroom with accommodation conveniently on one level.
Fordingbridge is named literally. A medieval stone bridge provides passage over the river, and there is a lovely Norman church. One of the most infamous smugglers of the 18th Century, Captain Diamond, was known to drink at the riverside George Inn as he moved goods up the river to Salisbury. You can follow his route via the Avon Valley Path that links Salisbury to Christchurch. Another route favoured by residents and visitors is that in Godshill. You're only half an hour's walk from the miles of New Forest footpaths and cycling routes. Bike hire is available locally for those who need it.
The New Forest is full of beautiful sights, including Beaulieu, the National Motor Museum, and Buckler's Hard. Day trips from Robin's Nest can also include places like Southampton, Stonehenge, the coast at Barton and Highcliffe, National Trust Lacock and Lacock Abbey, Castle Combe, Stourhead, Glastonbury and Glastonbury Tor, and Shaftsbury.
Robin's Nest is available all year round for holiday bookings. Though it is mainly rented as a one-bedroom cottage, a second single bedroom is available for an additional charge if you need to accommodate an extra adult.
