Rushcroft Farm is home to three holiday cottages and a Shepherds Hut accommodating parties of two to four guests individually and larger groups of up to ten (plus one) when all cottages are rented together. Sitting within the boundaries of the New Forest National Park, just five minutes by foot from the Hampshire village of Sway, Rushcroft Farm provides a great base for couples and families who want to explore the New Forest and its many attractions.
Well known for Peterson's Folly, a huge listed tower which keeps a watchful eye over the area, Sway offers a choice of eateries with two very good pubs for a meal out (the Silver Hind and the Hare and Hounds), a cafe for snacks, Sway Manor Hotel for finer dining and shops for provisions (including an award winning butchers selling fabulous produce for breakfast, BBQs etc). There is also a children's play area and tennis court a short stroll from Rushcroft Farm and train station for those without a car, providing public transport to a number of New Forest villages and towns. These include nearby Lymington (where you can catch the ferry to the Isle of Wight), as well as the harbour town of Poole, the coastal resort of Bournemouth for a day on the beach and Southampton.
A great base for walkers and cyclists, guests can enjoy direct forest access from the farm with miles of fabulous tracks and trails just waiting to be explored. On-site livery is also available for those looking for a holiday with their own horse, providing a sand school, turnout, parking for a trailer/lorry, miles of riding throughout the forest and easy driving access to the coast for those who have always dreamt of riding on the beach.
Stunning at any time of the year, the New Forest has been attracting people for centuries. Far from being 'New', William the Conqueror fell in love with the area and made it his hunting ground back in 1079, and today it still holds a magical natural charm where ponies, donkeys and cattle graze freely.
The bustling Georgian market town of Lymington is just four miles from Rushcroft Farm and has an excellent Saturday market - perfect for stocking up on local produce at the beginning of your holiday. Its streets offer shopping with popular high street names and independent boutiques lining its quaint cobbled quayside. From here you can take the ferry and explore the Isle of Wight or visit the picturesque village of Beaulieu with its world famous Motor Museum. Buckler's Hard is a pleasant walk along the river from Beaulieu and a must for those with an interest in maritime history. Lyndhurst (the 'capital' of the forest with an excellent museum/tourist information centre), Brockenhurst, Burley, Exbury Gardens and Milford-on-sea are just a few of the other attractions within easy reach when you stay at Rushcroft Farm.

The cottages and lodge at Rushcroft farm are comfy and welcoming. Converted from a barn, Owl Barn and Buzzard View both sleep four guests in two bedrooms and benefit from nice high ceilings which add to the sense of space in the light and airy open-plan living areas, we take dogs in these cottages. The Lodge is a one double bedroom cottage - sorry no dogs in this cottage.
