Little Home Farm is gorgeous. The recently refurbished holiday home is in the charming New Forest area of Walhampton, boasting views of the picturesque Lymington River valley to the Georgian rooftops of Lymington. It is spacious yet still feels cosy and welcoming, with leather sofas, a log burner, sumptuous bedding, and very high standards throughout. With three large ensuite bedrooms, an outdoor hot tub, and the New Forest National Park on the doorstep, it's not surprising that Little Home Farm is a favourite with families and friends all year round.
Little Home Farm is only half a mile from Lymington's harbour, shops, cafes and pubs. Everything you need for a relaxed New Forest holiday is a short walk or bike ride away, including equipment hire if you need a bicycle, kayak, SUP or sailboat. Lymington also has a mainline train station and a regular ferry service to the Isle of Wight, making it simple and stress-free to explore if you prefer not to drive. The St Barbe Museum is an excellent place to learn about the history of the area and the people who shaped it. If it's hot, cool off in the open-air seawater lido by the harbour, the biggest outdoor swimming pool in England.
There is so much to see and do when you stay at Little Home Farm! Follow the Solent Way footpath around the coast for spectacular views over the Solent to the Isle of Wight. Alternatively, head north and into the New Forest and a wealth of forest footpaths and cycling routes in ancient woodlands. Picturesque villages with thatched cottages and freely-roaming New Forest ponies, donkeys, and cattle all add to this area's idyllic nature. If you love beaches, you'll adore Milford-on-Sea for its bucket-and-spade charm. Bournemouth is only half an hour's drive from the cottage if you want your day at the seaside to feature a bit of resort glitz.
Local attractions include Henry VIII's imposing Hurst Castle, now an excellent WWII museum. Walk over the mile-long Hurst Spit for impressive views over the water to The Needles, taking a small ferry back to save your legs the return walk along the shingle. Beaulieu House and the National Motor Museum are 10 minutes by car from Little Home Farm, while Buckler's Hard is only a few minutes further. The ferry port from Lymington to Yarmouth on the Isle of Wight is within walking distance of the cottage to give you the option of visiting the island with or without a car. There is a choice of local golf courses and, being on the river and beside the coast, a huge choice of watersports that include sailing, kayaking and SUPs.
Little Farm Cottage is available all year round for bookings. It is child-friendly, and well-behaved dogs are welcome.
