About Little Home Farm

Little Home Farm is gorgeous. The recently refurbished holiday home is in the charming New Forest area of Walhampton, boasting views of the picturesque Lymington River valley to the Georgian rooftops of Lymington. It is spacious yet still feels cosy and welcoming, with leather sofas, a log burner, sumptuous bedding, and very high standards throughout. With three large ensuite bedrooms, an outdoor hot tub, and the New Forest National Park on the doorstep, it's not surprising that Little Home Farm is a favourite with families and friends all year round.

Little Home Farm is only half a mile from Lymington's harbour, shops, cafes and pubs. Everything you need for a relaxed New Forest holiday is a short walk or bike ride away, including equipment hire if you need a bicycle, kayak, SUP or sailboat. Lymington also has a mainline train station and a regular ferry service to the Isle of Wight, making it simple and stress-free to explore if you prefer not to drive. The St Barbe Museum is an excellent place to learn about the history of the area and the people who shaped it. If it's hot, cool off in the open-air seawater lido by the harbour, the biggest outdoor swimming pool in England.

There is so much to see and do when you stay at Little Home Farm! Follow the Solent Way footpath around the coast for spectacular views over the Solent to the Isle of Wight. Alternatively, head north and into the New Forest and a wealth of forest footpaths and cycling routes in ancient woodlands. Picturesque villages with thatched cottages and freely-roaming New Forest ponies, donkeys, and cattle all add to this area's idyllic nature. If you love beaches, you'll adore Milford-on-Sea for its bucket-and-spade charm. Bournemouth is only half an hour's drive from the cottage if you want your day at the seaside to feature a bit of resort glitz.

Local attractions include Henry VIII's imposing Hurst Castle, now an excellent WWII museum. Walk over the mile-long Hurst Spit for impressive views over the water to The Needles, taking a small ferry back to save your legs the return walk along the shingle. Beaulieu House and the National Motor Museum are 10 minutes by car from Little Home Farm, while Buckler's Hard is only a few minutes further. The ferry port from Lymington to Yarmouth on the Isle of Wight is within walking distance of the cottage to give you the option of visiting the island with or without a car. There is a choice of local golf courses and, being on the river and beside the coast, a huge choice of watersports that include sailing, kayaking and SUPs.

Little Farm Cottage is available all year round for bookings. It is child-friendly, and well-behaved dogs are welcome.

Location (The New Forest)

Accommodation Comprises:

Little Home Farm is a lovely house with accommodation over two levels. It is entirely private and self-contained, but the owners live onsite if you have any questions.

Downstairs:

  • Welcoming living room with seating for everyone on two sofas and two low chairs. Rich colours, beautiful textiles, and a log burner add to the sense of calm, making this a fantastic room to relax with family or friends, watching TV, chatting, or playing games.
  • An original lintel in the doorway between the living room and kitchen/diner is one of many original features that highlight the pedigree of this property. The kitchen/diner is a sunny, fresh space with a mix of modern appliances and vintage furnishings that create a stylishly eclectic atmosphere. The antique pine dining table seats six people. A highchair is available. The kitchen is handmade Mark Wilkinson and has modern top of the range Meile and Gaggenau appliances. Cupboards and drawers are well-stocked with equipment and utensils for cooking and serving meals. Glass doors open from the dining area onto the terrace.
  • Bedroom Three on the ground floor feels like a gorgeous "garden room" due to its view and decor. It has a kingsize bed, bedside tables and reading lights, and a wall-mounted Smart TV. The ensuite features a marble tiled shower, WC and a handbasin.

Upstairs:

  • Bedroom One has a feature brick wall and glass doors open onto the private balcony with fantastic views over gardens and the countryside beyond. The ensuite is of the same superb standard as the rest of the house, featuring a walk-in shower, heated towel rail, WC and a basin. Towels are provided.
  • Bedroom Two has a high ceiling, original beams and proper storage. The marble ensuite has double basins and a bath.

Outside: Doors open from the kitchen/diner into the enclosed rear garden, where there is a paved terrace, a barbecue and an outdoor dining setting. Luxuriate in the bubbling bliss of the outdoor 7-person hot tub and admire the beautiful night skies. There is off-street parking on the driveway.

Additional Information: Utilities, WiFi, bed linen and bath towels are all included. The property has central heating and underfloor heating in the downstairs bedroom and ensuite. Well-behaved dogs are welcome by arrangement. A surcharge applies. Short breaks (minimum of three nights) are available, depending on availability. Smoking is not permitted.
