Foxglove Cottage sleeps up to eight guests (plus baby) and is one of the owners two holiday homes that are perfectly placed in the popular village of Burley in the New Forest National Park. Well presented, both holiday cottages offer a warm welcome and afford plenty of traditional character and charm. Foxglove Cottage is just seventy metres away from the owners other cottage, Oakapple Cottage which also sleeps eight. When rented together, larger parties of up to sixteen can be accommodated, having wide appeal to friends and families who want to holiday or get together for a weekend, whilst enjoying a good degree of personal space.
Burley is ideally positioned in the heart of the New Forest and is conveniently located being easily accessible by car or train from London. Offering all the qualities of a picturesque forest village, Burley provides a great choice of amenities that are all within easy strolling distance of the cottages. Hire a bike from the village and cycle the leafy lanes and miles of forest tracks and trails; explore the quieter areas of the forest by horse back - a wonderful way to take in the scenery and see the wild ponies in their natural environment; enjoy long leisurely lunches or an afternoon tea in the restaurants, traditional pubs and tea rooms; browse the interesting village gift and craft shops or simply relax and soak up the lovely atmosphere of this Forest village with pretty thatched cottages and ponies, donkeys and cattle that wander the little lanes.
Golfers can enjoy a round at Burley's scenic double nine hole course on the outskirts of the village or take a New Forest Deer Safari at Burley Park which offers a unique experience. Alternatively, explore Burley's lanes in a more sedate fashion and take a ride on a horse drawn wagon which provides a novel and relaxed way of taking in the sights. It goes without saying that there are also endless opportunities for walkers, wildlife enthusiasts and bird watchers on the doorstep with miles of forest tracks and open heather clad heathland just waiting to be explored.
For those happy to venture a little further afield, there are a wide selection of attractions within the New Forest with something to suit all ages and energy levels. Paultons Park is sure to be a holiday highlight with the younger ones and Beaulieu Motor Museum is a great day out for the whole family. Exbury Gardens is another popular attraction (particularly in the spring when ablaze with colour) or spend the day at Moors Valley Country Park where you can enjoy a host of outdoor adventures. The wider area also has much appeal with the World Heritage Jurassic Coastline, Salisbury with its stunning cathedral, world famous Stonehenge, Portsmouth with its historic Dockyards and the Isle of Wight (catch the ferry from Lymington) all easily accessible by car for a day trip out.
Whether you are looking for a family holiday or a get together with friends, both of these holiday cottages provide a relaxing retreat at any time of the year.
