The Old Vicarage in Vowchurch is a large Victorian holiday home in the stunning Golden Valley, offering easy access to both Hay-on-Wye and Hereford. Although large enough to sleep 12 people in six bedrooms (14 at a squeeze), it still feels cosy and welcoming - precisely the place where you, your family and your friends can relax in comfort. The red brick Victorian holiday home has all the fantastic features you'd expect from a building of this pedigree, including beautiful timber floors, and over an acre of gardens. Guests also enjoy contemporary comforts like an outdoor hot tub, a wooden sauna, a modern range oven, a games room, and extremely efficient central heating for cold weather.
Vowchurch is a peaceful village that feels as if you're in the middle of nowhere when you're actually only just over ten miles from Hay-on-Wye. It's wonderfully scenic with views over the Welsh border to the Black Mountains and the Brecon Beacons (Bannau Brycheiniog) National Park. Take a stroll around the village, stopping to admire the surrounding countryside and the pretty St Bartholomew's Church. Routes further afield encompass Cat's Back, Hay Bluff, and Arthur's Stone.
Spend the day exploring the many specialist book shops in Hay-on-Wye or visit Hereford, including an ancient Mappa Mundi in the Norman cathedral. The Black and White Trail takes you through charming market towns characterised by the timber buildings that give the route its name. This region is renowned not only for its cider but also for the quality of food produced locally. Over the border in Wales, you can climb Pen y Fan, the Sugarloaf, the Skirrid, and the Blorenge. The latter three are close to Abergavenny, whose annual food festival on the third weekend in September attracts foodies from around Britain.

Outside: The Old Vicarage has over an acre of lovingly tended gardens with lots of room to relax and play. There is a full size table tennis table, a climbing frame and a football goal. There is also an outdoor sauna and a hot tub in a sheltered area next to the house, a patio area, plenty of seating, and a charcoal BBQ.
Additional Information: Utilities, WiFi, bed linen and bath towels are included. An extra bed can be provided for a fee. Two dogs are welcome by arrangement. The property is strictly a non-smoking venue.
