About Pres du Val

Pres du Val is a stunning self-catering holiday home in the highly sought after parish of St Martin on the beautiful island of Guernsey. Surrounded by expertly tended gardens that include a swimming pool with a spa and a sun terrace, the spacious property sleeps ten people in five bedrooms. Grocery stores, pub, pharmacy and other independent shops are a gentle walk via a country lane. Guernsey is the second-largest of eight inhabited Channel Islands, and arguably the loveliest, with vibrant St Peter Port as its capital and beautiful walks around the coast and through the countryside. Friends, families and extended families will feel very much at home at Pres du Val.

Guernsey is ideal for a holiday not only for its wonderful climate but also because it is small enough to explore easily, yet large enough that there is plenty to keep everyone amused. The entire island is very family-friendly, and St Martin particularly so, thanks to its fantastic bays, beaches, and spectacular coastal footpath with views of the neighbouring islands of Hern, Jersey and Sark. St Peter Port is a brief drive or bus ride from St Martin. No matter how many countries you have visited, it's unlikely any have had a capital town as charming as this one. Stroll along the town quay and admire the boats in the marina, sit outside a cafe and enjoy a drink in the sun, and treat yourself to seafood fresh off the boat that morning. In summer, central streets are pedestrianised, giving the town a chic St Tropez vibe, and there are regular festivals celebrating food and music. In colder months, it's quieter, and you'll have more opportunity to explore the winding cobbled lanes at your leisure.

From Rousse Tower on the island's north coast to Petit Bot Bay in the south is less than seven miles. Even if you explore on foot or bicycle, you can still enjoy all of Guernsey's best sights and favourite attractions. Items for your itinerary include seeing the 800-year-old Castle Cornet in St Peter Port, taking a RIB tour between the islands or a more gentle ferry crossing to Herm, learning to surf at Vazon Bay, making a wish at Table des Pions, watching the puffins, and visiting the ancient Le Dehus Dolmen tomb where evidence of prehistoric life dating back to 20,000 BCE has been found.

Pres du Val feels like a much-loved family home because that is exactly what it is. With four bedrooms being ensuite, it is perfect for multi-generational family holidays and relaxed fun with friends.

Accommodation Comprises:

Pres du Val is a sprawling family home set at the end of a long driveway with no immediate neighbours. Accommodation is over two levels.

Downstairs:

  • Conservatory living/dining room with folding glass doors opening onto the paved terrace. These will be open all day in summer as you make your way between the house and the pool, which is heated during the summer months to ensure a constant, comfortable temperature.
  • Spacious kitchen well-equipped to cater for nearly a dozen hungry people. Huge work surfaces, lots of storage, a table with chairs and high-quality appliances that include a dishwasher, a range cooker and an American-style fridge/freezer with an ice dispenser make cooking and serving meals a pleasure.
  • Large utility room with laundry and cleaning facilities.
  • Twin room with two full-sized single beds, a wardrobe and a chest of drawers. It has three windows with one overlooking the pool.
  • Double en-suite bedroom with a king-size bed.

Upstairs:

  • Spacious Master Bedroom with a luxury ensuite bathroom, super-king size bed, antique furniture, and a TV with DVD player and HDMI ports. Dual aspect windows overlook the pool and the garden.
  • Double bedroom with French doors that open onto a terrace overlooking the pool and the gardens. Every bedroom has soft carpet, sumptuous bedding and clothes storage. This bedroom has a king-size bed and is one of four with a stylish ensuite bathroom. There is a window seat where you can sit and enjoy your morning tea.
  • Second double bedroom with king-size bed and dual-aspect windows, one of which has a window seat with garden views. The room is also beautifully furnished with clothes storage and sumptuous bedding.

Outside: The house has mature gardens that include a level area of lawn, a paved terrace with seating and a barbecue, and a beautiful pool with a spa. Stretch out on a sun lounger in between laps, or take shelter from the summer sun under a parasol. The long driveway provides ample parking.

Additional Information: All utilities, WiFi, bed linen and bath towels are provided. A travel cot (no bedding) is available. Well-behaved pets are considered - please discuss with the owner before booking. Smoking is not permitted.
