Longmynd is a waterfront holiday rental in Gloucestershire. Overlooking the magnificent Severn River six miles from Gloucester and a short walk from the Severn Bore pub and restaurant in Minsterworth, it comfortably sleeps 12 people in four bedrooms with three bathrooms, an outdoor hot tub, and parking for seven cars. It's a wonderfully welcoming home-away-from-home where families and friends can enjoy the beauty, history and diverse attractions of Gloucester and the surrounding area. It's great for family get-togethers or as a place to host guests attending a wedding.
Minsterworth is a tiny village in the Forest of Dean. It's best known as the place to see (or surf!) the huge waves of the Severn Bore and for fishing. Gloucester is a 15-20 minute drive from the cottage. Famous for its magnificent cathedral, it proudly boasts a history dating back thousands of years, beautifully revitalised docks with bars and restaurants, a designer shopping outlet, and lots of independent shops and familiar High Street stores. Sit by the water in the summer sunshine, and admire the beauty of the autumn colours at Barnwood Arboretum and Robinswood Hill. Attractions to add to your itinerary include the National Waterways Museum and the building that inspired Beatrix Potter's setting for "The Tailor of Gloucester".
Longmynd is in between the Wye Valley and the Cotswolds AONB. Days out can feature long bike rides, walks, or horse rides through the beautiful countryside. Go swimming, kayaking, or gorge walking in the Wye, or spend days shopping in Cheltenham, Stroud, Ross-on-Wye, or Cirencester. Clearwell Caves, Puzzlewood, the Dean Forest Railway, and Chepstow Castle are more fun, family-friendly places within an easy drive of your holiday home. Guests enjoy the Dean Heritage Centre, Wye Valley Butterfly Zoo, and Go Ape! at Mallards Pike Lake.
