Cricketers' Cottage is your dream country cottage. We would be surprised if you could dream up a place more perfect than the Grade 2 listed, 17th Century holiday home in the Gloucestershire village of Apperley, not far from the friendly Farmers Arms pub. From the oak beams to the original flagstone floors, and the rural location with perfect views over the countryside, it's no surprise that Cricketers' Cottage is so popular with families and friends. It sleeps ten people in five bedrooms, with guests loving how welcoming and spacious it is and that it's child and dog-friendly while still being large enough for a group of adults.
Apperley is a pretty country village five miles south of Tewkesbury. It's as picturesque as they come, with the surrounding landscape home to farms and equestrian centres. The region is a favourite with walkers, who love the beautiful scenery and wealth of walking trails, and also popular with anglers who fish nearby on the Severn and Avon rivers. Tewkesbury is packed with fantastic shops and businesses. There has been a regular market here for centuries, with current market days being Wednesday and Saturday. Tewkesbury hosts a farmers market on the second Saturday of the month, a food and arts market several times a year, and an annual Food Festival in the historic abbey. Whether you stay in for meals or dine out, you will eat well!
Your days can be as relaxing or adventurous as you are. Cheltenham is only 20 minutes away for shopping, lunch and a day at the races, and you're also close to the magnificent Gloucester Cathedral. The Cotswolds are on the doorstep, you're within an easy drive of the Malvern Hills, and the area is full of National Trust and English Heritage properties. No matter what the season, you won't want to miss the opportunity to stay at Cricketers' Cottage.
