The wood‑burning stove sets the tone for slow mornings and relaxed evenings after a day exploring the coast or climbing Criffel. Outside, the enclosed patio offers a private spot for morning coffee, reading in the afternoon sun or enjoying an alfresco supper with a glass of wine. It’s ideal for dogs and wonderfully peaceful.
Set in a row of pretty cottages, Rosewall sits in the picture‑postcard village of New Abbey, surrounded by rolling hills, forest and coastline. Everything you need is close by: a pub, tea room, the historic Corn Mill, and the majestic Sweetheart Abbey.
The wider landscape offers an exceptional mix of scenery and activities. Walkers, cyclists and nature lovers will find endless routes through the Galloway Hills, Galloway Forest Park and along the Solway Firth. Wildlife enthusiasts can visit Mersehead RSPB Reserve, home to spectacular autumn gatherings of Barnacle Geese, or follow the Red Kite Trail. Golfers have excellent courses at Colvend and Southerness, while adventure‑seekers can head to the Galloway Activity Centre for sailing, paddleboarding and wild swimming on Loch Ken. Mountain bikers will love the world‑class 7Stanes trails.

Outside: There is an enclosed patio area accessed off the kitchen with outdoor table and chairs and BBQ - a lovely place to relax at the end of the day and sit outside when the sun shines soaking up the beauty of New Abbey. Parking available on the road and in the Abbey car park.
Additional information: Two dogs welcome - please enquire if you wish to bring more (additional charge applies). Dogs must be kept off the soft furnishings. Short breaks available - please enquire with the owner. Heating, electricity, bed linen and towels (please bring beach towels) included. No smoking and no vaping.
