Beautifully presented throughout, the owners have tastefully mixed rustic character with contemporary features to produce a wonderfully stylish, yet cosy retreat for couples and pet owners. A delightful haven to tuck yourself away from the stresses of every-day life and relax, recharge, rekindle and make happy memories.
A log burning stove adds to the ambience as you curl-up on the sofa after an invigorating walk along the beach on a blustery day; while the enclosed patio with outdoor seating and BBQ provides a private place to soak up the beauty and tranquility of the location over morning coffee whilst you plan your days adventures, or an alfresco meal at the end of the day with a 'sundowner'.
One of a row of pretty characterful cottages, Rosewall is located in the picture-postcard village of New Abbey in Dumfries and Galloway surrounded by beautiful Scottish scenery rich in culture and history. Sitting in the county of Kirkcudbrightshire, the village has a general store for provisions, a pub for a tipple, tea room for lunch and a water mill and Cistercian abbey adding to its charm.
The surrounding landscape provides a lovely mix of coast, forest and mountains sitting in the shadows of the summit of Criffel with endless opportunities for relaxing and adventure. For those who enjoy walking, fishing and cycling, the Galloway Hills and Forest provide endless opportunities and are close by. Golfers will enjoy a round at the 18-hole course at Colvend Bay or Southerness with its championship course. There are museums to learn about local history and culture, along with restaurants, hotels and cafes to sample the finest of Scottish fare. Wildlife enthusiasts should make a trip to the Solway Firth or visit the wetland and saltmarshes of the RSPB reserve at Mersehead when in the Autumn, the Barnacle Geese visit and make the most magnificent of sights. The Red Kite Trail is also a must for twitchers who have dreamt of spotting osprey.
If you enjoy being active on holiday, pay a visit to the Galloway Activity Centre sitting on the banks of Loch Ken (a great place for wild swimming). They offer a host of activities including sailing, wind surfing and SUP'ing. Scotland's renowned 7stanes trail will also satisfy the keenest of mountain bikers and the surrounding country lanes will suit those who prefer a more sedate pedal.
This beautiful part of Scotland has something to offer everyone, from history to adventure and fine dining to lazy days on the beach. Alternatively, just relax and soak up the magic of Rosewall and the beauty of New Abbey.

Outside: There is an enclosed patio area accessed off the kitchen with outdoor table and chairs and BBQ - a lovely place to relax at the end of the day and sit outside when the sun shines soaking up the beauty of New Abbey. Parking available on the road and in the Abbey car park.
Additional information: Two dogs welcome - please enquire if you wish to bring more (additional charge applies). Dogs must be kept off the soft furnishings. Short breaks available - please enquire with the owner. Heating, electricity, bed linen and towels (please bring beach towels) included. No smoking and no vaping.
