Welcome to Lake View Lodge, a beautifully refurbished, ground-floor holiday cottage set beside the tranquil waters of Foxholes Lake, just outside Matlock in the heart of the Derbyshire Dales.
Perfect for couples or two friends, this one-bedroom hideaway offers comfort, style, and unbeatable access to one of Derbyshire’s most peaceful coarse fishing lakes. Whether you’re here to unwind, explore, or fish from dawn to dusk, Lake View Lodge is the ideal escape.
Inside, you’ll find a spacious bedroom with your choice of a super king or twin bed setup, a modern bathroom with a large walk-in shower, and luxury towels included.
The fully equipped kitchen features a dishwasher, fridge with ice box, oven, induction hob, microwave, toaster, kettle, and coffee machine – everything you need for a comfortable, self-catered stay. The open-plan living area includes a 50-inch Smart TV, Bluetooth speaker, games, books and free Wi-Fi throughout.
Step outside, and you’re just metres from the water’s edge. Fishing for two guests is included, with no time restrictions – you can fish as much as you like, whenever you like, including under the stars with our floodlit lake. The private lake is stocked with a fantastic mix of species, including Carp (Common, Mirror, Crucian, Koi, Ghost, and Grass) up to 20lbs, plus Tench, Roach, Rudd, Bream, Perch, ornamental Goldfish and much more.
While the lake is open to day ticket anglers, numbers are strictly limited to a maximum of five pegs, ensuring peace, space, and a quality fishing experience at all times. For guests seeking complete privacy, exclusive lake hire is available for an additional charge – ideal for special occasions or undisturbed sessions.
You’ll also enjoy access to the Anglers’ Lodge, a cosy, sociable space with seating and lake views – the perfect place to relax between casts.
For those who love to walk, explore scenic trails from your doorstep or venture into the nearby Peak District National Park. With rolling hills, woodlands, and local villages to discover, the area is a haven for outdoor lovers.
