Field End could not be in a better spot for a rural escape. Whether you're taking a weekend break from the city or are searching for a country haven where you can spend a week or longer, this gorgeous cottage delivers. It is part one of two fabulous self-catering properties at Potato Town in Swerford, within walking distance of The Boxing Hare pub and close to Swerford and Chipping Norton. It is part of the Great Tew Estate, and guests have direct access to the picturesque Oxfordshire countryside from the door.
Whatever type of holiday you're after, Swerford is in the ideal location. Chipping Norton and the Cotswolds AONB are only five miles away, the M40 is 12 miles away, and Oxford is 20 miles and under an hour's drive. Bicester Village is within easy reach to satisfy even the most ardent lovers of designer labels, or you may prefer the charming boutiques and cafes of Woodstock, home to beautiful Blenheim Palace. Being a favourite weekend destination for many Londoners means that the pubs, delis and boutiques are extremely well-stocked with all manner of goodies.
Walking through rural Oxfordshire is a delight. The landscape is so inspiring that you may find yourself booking a future place on one of the artist's workshops the owner's host. The gardens outside the cottage are a riot of colourful flowers, and the surrounding meadows and fields are no less beautiful. A short drive along the country lane takes you to Great Tew and a mile or so further is the ever-so-stylish Soho Farmhouse; or book a luxurious spa day at nearby Dalesford Organic Farm where they also have a reputable cookery school and an excellent farm shop and cafe.
Field End is a place where you can fill your time with exploration, fun and adventure, or spend guilt-free days doing nothing. The one consistent is that there is always a warm welcome for guests.
