Blue Row Cottage is a dream English cottage close to the Cotswolds AONB with plenty of period features like thick elm beams and a stone inglenook fireplace. There is space for up to five people to sleep in three bedrooms with a layout that makes it as comfortable for couples as it is for families and friends. The location in the village of Swerford is within walking distance of the welcoming Boxing Hare pub and perfect for walking, cycling, shopping and enjoying popular attractions in the Cotswold Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the Oxfordshire countryside.
The Cotswolds is a favourite year-round holiday destination for people around the world who have seen images of honey-coloured stone buildings and flower-filled cottage gardens in films or on TV. Visitors want to see for themselves whether the landscape is as pretty in reality as it is in films like Bridget Jones's Diary and the Harry Potter movies, and TV shows like Downton Abbey and Poldark. The good news is that the Cotswolds and the area around Swerford are even more picturesque, showing off in every season with gorgeous scenery.
Swerford is a friendly village above the River Swere that is small on size but big on character. It is only a 10-minute drive from the famous Cotswold town of Chipping Norton but is away from touristy areas to offer guests a quiet, peaceful stay within easy reach of places to eat, drink and shop.
There is plenty to do within a small radius of the cottage. In addition to walking and cycling around the countryside, guests can visit places like Great Tew, Broughton Castle, Banbury and Charleston House. Cool off in the lido at Chipping Norton in the summer and warm up in front of a country pub fire with a pint from the local Hook Norton brewery in winter. Slightly further afield but still only 20-40 minutes drive from the cottage are favourite places such as Woodstock, the much-photographed Slaughters and Bourton-on-the-Water, Stow-on-the-Wold, Chipping Campden, and historic Oxford and Stratford-Upon-Avon.
Attractions to visit during a stay in Blue Row Cottage include Blenheim Palace, Cotswold Farm Park, Warwick Castle, Sudeley Castle and Chedworth Roman Villa.
With excellent access from both London and the south-east as well as the Midlands, it is easy to see why the Cotswolds and this part of Oxfordshire are such a popular place for a relaxing holiday.
