The View has one of those names that undersells what you're actually getting. From this end of terrace holiday cottage in Deganwy, a short walk from Castle View Bar & Restaurant, you're looking at Conwy Castle, the estuary with boats bobbing about, two marinas, the Snowdonia mountain range, and the sea sparkling in the distance. It's the kind of view that stops you in your tracks every single time you step outside. This award-winning self-catering property accommodates up to five guests in two bedrooms, making it ideal for couples, families, and groups of friends. There is a lovely feel about it - the sort of place where you immediately relax and feel at home. The village location puts you right between Llandudno's Victorian grandeur and Conwy's medieval magic.
Deganwy sits in that sweet spot on the estuary, giving waterfront living with village charm. Watch the sun sparkle on the water from your outdoor seating areas, wander down to the harbour, or stroll along to either of the nearby marinas. The beaches here are brilliant with proper sandy stretches where kids can dig and splash while you keep an eye on them from the shoreline. Deganwy has a lovely, low-key atmosphere with friendly pubs, a chippy for those essential seaside dinners, and enough shops for your basics without the tourist crowds. The coastal path runs right through so you can walk for miles in either direction with those estuary and sea views keeping you company.
North Wales spreads out beautifully from your doorstep. Conwy Castle is less than two miles away. They may be ancient, but the thrill of seeing those UNESCO walls and towers never gets old, and you can walk the complete circuit of the medieval battlements for views that'll take your breath away. Llandudno's Victorian pier, Great Orme cable car, and sweeping bay are just down the road for classic seaside days out. Snowdonia National Park stretches beyond Conwy with its famous peaks, and there's also Betws-y-Coed with its waterfalls, mountain railways up to the summits, and enough hiking trails to keep you busy for weeks. Bodnant Garden shows off stunning Welsh horticulture, while adventure seekers can head to Zip World or Bounce Below for proper thrills. There are more beaches to explore as you head westward toward Anglesey, and historic sites like Caernarfon Castle are easy day trips.
