Hilary's Cottage is a charming detached Victorian holiday cottage positioned in the historic village of Swaffham Prior in East Cambridgeshire. Conveniently located, the village is famed for having two churches; both located in the same churchyard and is near to Newmarket, Cambridge, Ely and The Fens.
Hilary’s Cottage retains much of its original Victorian charm and character with lovely original features, perfectly combined with modern conveniences. It is one of two holiday cottages located here (see the owner's website for information on Garden Cottage which sleeps four) and sleeps up to six guests in three bedrooms (two upstairs bedrooms and one on the ground floor).
Located approximately eight miles from the University City of Cambridge, and with a bus service running every half an hour, it is easy to visit this infamous city without even getting in the car. In addition, Newmarket is five miles away, and Ely with its pretty Norman cathedral, is twelve miles. Just a short walk from the cottage you will find The Red Lion, a friendly 17th Century pub which serves excellent food and a fine selection of ales and wines. For local shopping, Swaffham Bulbeck (1.5 miles) has a Post Office and general store and Burwell (2 miles) offers four good pubs, several takeaways and an Indian restaurant, as well as a Costcutter store, Co-op, Lloyds Chemist, Post Office and petrol station.
