No47 is a deceptively spacious country house with 6 bedrooms, 3 reception rooms, a self contained cabin and a very large enclosed & private garden. It is also close to main routes into Cambridge, Saffron Walden and Bury St Edmunds (A14, A11, M11).
My husband and I have owed No47 for 25 years, living in it as a family home with both young and older family members. It has developed into a perfect home for an extended family with all needs. The house hosts 5 double bedrooms in the main house and 1 double bedroom in a ground level, self contained cabin close to the house. One of our 5 double bedrooms in the main house is on the ground floor and has the advantage of an ensuite wet room. If guests have accessibility needs, we are very happy to discuss and provide additional amenities for your stay (loo raisers, shower seat, perching stool, commode). Ditto for very young children (cots, stair gates, high chairs etc.).
We have a large living room with a 62" Smart TV & SkyQ, a dining room close to the kitchen seating up to 14, a kitchen diner with 2 ovens & 2 fridge freezers, a games room with a pool/ping pong table, a poker/cards table, soft & sharp dart boards (soft darts provided, but please bring your own sharp darts) and other board games.
Outside we offer garden games including crocket, garden bowls & bowling, sports day games (sack & egg/spoon races etc.), and 'easy set-up' Badminton. For the more energetic we have an in-ground trampoline, a basket/netball hoop and a football goal (with the associated balls).
As dog owners ourselves, we are more than happy to accept your pets, we just ask that if you are bringing more than two dogs or other pets you check with us first. We charge £20 per day, per pet, with a minimum charge of £75, this is for cleaning costs as pets do cause extra cleaning. We also ask that any 'poos' are cleaned up from the garden before you leave.
A Final Note: We have let No47 as a holiday let (on and off) over 15 years and recently moved to Independent Cottages as our advertising agent. We have experience in knowing what guests prefer and also in the running of a self catering property. We want to offer the best we can, whilst covering our costs and making some profit. We therefore now offer a slightly reduced service where we ask you to bring your own towels, make up your own bed (with bedding supplied) and strip your beds at the end of your stay. We supply starter amounts of essentials but ask that you bring sufficient loo roll, soap, tea & coffee etc. for the length of your stay. If you need additional supplies to this, please do get in touch and we can discuss a way to provide these for you.

Linton is a delightful village and civil parish, resting in Cambridgeshire, on the border alongside Essex. The dormitory village of Cambridge has grown rapidly since the 1960s, and now offers a good range of amenities and attractions for its guests. There are a variety of cuisines on offer, varying from indulgent Indian restaurants to quaint cafés alongside pubs, there's something for every taste. If you're wanting to cook for yourself, the village also offers a selection of shops where you can gather produce for your own lovingly-made meal. For a family-fun day out, be sure to visit Linton Zoo where you can find animals of all kinds and even dinosaurs, making a brilliant day trip for all. Explore the village's art gallery
Saffron Walden is a market town in Essex, England. It retains a rural appearance and some buildings of the medieval period. This petite and unspoilt town has colourful cottages, pristine gardens and lots of country pubs. Its market dates back to 1141 but is now a sumptuous modern market, definitely, worth a visit.
Cambridge is famed for its prestige university, but there's plenty here to keep all ages entertained with a large selection of art galleries presenting enticing exhibitions, a scatter of museums including The Fitzwilliam Museum, Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology and the Polar Museum. As well as boasting a brilliant cultural experience, you can browse the area by bike, punt (on the river camb or take in the beauty of its architecture up close before ending your day in one of its many eateries.
Historic Bury St Edmunds can also be reached via a scenic car journey, with its Abbey ruins and renounced Abbey Gardens, Suffolk's only cathedral, a wonderful theatre and plenty of shopping experiences, it's well-worth a visit.
