Polin Croft is a 150-year-old traditional croft near Kinlochbervie in the far northwest of Scotland. With soft white sand and crystal clear water a five/ten minute walk down a grassy path from the village it’s the perfect place for a quiet getaway. With one double bedroom, this holiday cottage is well-equipped for couples and individuals who want a relaxed self-catering holiday in Scotland. There are beautiful views of the beach and the hills both from the croft and the garden and even better if you venture a short walk up the hill where you can see Handa Island and the Hebrides in the distance.
There are plenty of walks around the coast so take a camera or sketchpad to record the view or bring your bike to explore further afield. Bird watchers should bring their binoculars and plan a day on Handa Island, where the sandstone cliffs are full of puffin, kittiwake and fulmar nests.
Places to go include Sandwood Bay, Cape Wrath, Durness, Lochinver and Assynt. There are restaurants in Kinlochbervie, Inshegra and Rhiconich if you fancy dining out, though you will find all of the equipment necessary for self-catering at the cottage.
