Swythamley is a small but perfectly formed hamlet in the western part of the Peak District, close to the River Dane and the Staffordshire/Cheshire border. The region is full of fantastic sights that lure walkers from around the country. The Hanging Stone is around two miles from the cottage, with other local landmarks including The Roaches, Lud's Church, Three Shires Head, and Shutlingsloe. Macclesfield Forest, a former royal hunting ground, is seven miles north, while Solomon's Temple, Poole's Cavern, and Buxton County Park are only a few miles further. There is no need to worry about returning to the house with dogs muddy after their walk, as you have a dog grooming cabin to get them fresh and fluffy again.
You don't have to be a walker or a mountain biker to appreciate a self-catering holiday in the Peak District. Outside: The exterior of High Ridge Barn is as carefully planned as the interiors. Half an acre of grounds includes a lawn and paddock for playing outdoor games and football. There's seating for eight people on the terrace and two charcoal barbecues. Separate sheds provide secure bike storage and professional-standard dog grooming facilities, and there's off-street parking for four cars. The house has a sauna that can be used for an extra cost.
Additional Information: All utilities, WiFi, bed linen (including cot bedding) and bath towels are included. An initial supply of wood, kindling and charcoal for the log burner and barbecues is also provided. Well-behaved dogs are welcome. Smoking is not permitted.
