Field House Cottage is a welcoming stone cottage in the Peak District National Park, close to Leek and Buxton, and with stunning walks accessible from the gate. The cottage has roots in the mid-1600s yet feels fresh and modern thanks to a sympathetic refurbishment. There is easily space for four people to sleep in two bedrooms with a double sofa-bed that can sleep two further guests if required. Couples, families and friends have all enjoyed fantastic holidays in Field House Cottage, with many making return bookings.
The Peak District National Park, and especially this area around the south-western edge of the Pennines, is perfect for walking in any season. Field House Cottage is close to two favourite beauty spots with paths leading practically from the door to The Roaches and Hen Cloud. The Roaches is suited to walking and fell running, while the views from Hen Cloud are dramatic and spectacular. Ramshaw Rocks are also nearby, so you're really spoilt for choice. Mountain biking is another favourite activity with local businesses providing bike hire and guided rides if you need them. Climbing and horse riding are two further ways to enjoy the national park's gorgeous landscape, with Tittesworth Water and Rudyard Lake only a few miles away with facilities to sail, canoe, paddleboard and fish.
Staying in Field House Cottage means that you're close to attractions like Alton Towers, Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Trentham Gardens, and the Castleton Caverns. The Stoke Potteries, including the World of Wedgwood, are just over half an hour's drive from the cottage, or you could spend a day shopping in Buxton, browsing the huge Monday market in Bakewell, or driving through the Hope Valley and visiting historic villages like Eyam.
Field House Cottage is a wonderful home-away-from-home where your comfort has been given every consideration. The owners live next door so are on hand to welcome you and answer any questions, yet the cottage is completely self-contained so you don't have to see anyone should you choose not to.

Field House Cottage is a charming barn conversion with accommodation over two levels.

Outside: Paved patio with a picnic bench and a barbecue. There is also a patio to the front of the cottage with table and chairs. Storage for bikes, climbing gear and other sports equipment. Parking for several cars next to the cottage. Guests also have use of the owner's extensive garden which includes a pond and a seasonal lake with an island.
Additional Information: Bed linen, bath towels, utilities and WiFi are all included. A cot and high chair are available. Guests have access to a washing machine and dryer in the shared utility room next to the cottage. Smoking is not permitted. No pets as there are animals on site (chickens, ducks, cats and dog).
