Croft House Barn is a Peak District holiday cottage for families and friends. While big enough to sleep six people in three bedrooms, it's not too large that couples won't also feel right at home as soon as they open the front door. It's easy to see why guests return time and again for the comfortable self-catering property, loving the spectacular views and quiet village location in Waterfall, a short walk from the Red Lion Inn and convenient for some of the region's most famous beauty spots and attractions.
Waterfall is a pretty village in the southwest of the national park. Being very central in the country, the cottage has easy access from the motorway systems and the M1 or M6 can be reached in under one hour. Once you're here, you have a huge choice of things to see and do. Treat your kids (or your inner one) to a day at Alton Towers, where the thrill of the rollercoasters is only 20 minutes from your rural front door. No visit to the Peak District is complete without seeing the magnificence of Chatsworth House, where the extensive grounds, world-class collections of art and furniture, farm and playground offer a full day of fun for the whole family. Browse the boutiques and admire the elegant architecture of Buxton, visit the busy Monday market in Bakewell, or take a seat in a tearoom in Matlock or one of the many other picturesque towns and villages.
Active people and lovers of the great outdoors will be in their element on holiday in the Peak District National Park. The cottage is five minutes from the start of the scenic Manifold Trail with its access to Thor’s Cave and just 20 mins from the Monsal and Tissington, while the Combe Valley RSPB Nature Reserve is even closer. Play golf, or go fishing or boating at Rudyard Lake, Carsington or Tittesworth. The Derwent Valley World Heritage mill sites are perfect for a relaxed walk and lunch. At the same time, Ilam, Dovedale and the Roaches offer incredible views accessible on foot, mountain bike, or horseback.
Guests who have stayed at Croft House Barn love the beauty of its rural location combined with the high standard of accommodation and convenience of places to eat, drink and shop. It's so easy to relax in its welcoming atmosphere knowing that you have spectacular walks and fantastic attractions nearby.
