The Old Ropery at Mill Cottage is a charming former rope maker's cottage, once associated with the Buckingham family, the last rope makers in the UK. Full of original features and quirky character, it offers a cosy and comfortable base for exploring Sherwood Forest and the many attractions of Nottinghamshire.
Sleeping up to six guests across three bedrooms, the cottage is perfect for families, friends and four-legged companions. From the exposed beams and low doorways to the cosy log-burning stove and beautiful roll-top bath, there's plenty of character to discover while still having all the modern comforts you need for a relaxing stay.
Step through the key-coded gate into the secure private garden, a lovely place to enjoy your morning coffee, relax after a day exploring or let the children and dogs enjoy some outdoor space.

Inside, you'll find everything you need for a comfortable and relaxed stay.
The cosy living room has comfortable leather seating, a Smart TV, fibre Wi-Fi, a log-burning stove and a well-stocked bookcase. The dining room seats six, while the fully equipped kitchen includes a range cooker, microwave, dishwasher, coffee machine, kettle and fridge.
Upstairs, the master bedroom has a king-size bed, alongside a comfortable double bedroom and a third bedroom with adult-sized bunk beds. The family bathroom features a beautiful roll-top bath and separate shower.
The sunroom provides a handy entrance space for coats, boots, bikes and muddy paws, with a separate utility room containing a washing machine, fridge-freezer and sink.
Outside, the secure enclosed garden has seating areas and a BBQ, making it a lovely space to enjoy during warmer months.
Please note: As a 300-year-old cottage, The Old Ropery has some charmingly quirky features, including low doorways and a lower ceiling at the top of the stairs. All bedrooms and the bathroom are upstairs, so the cottage may not be suitable for guests with restricted mobility.
