Crannoch Self-Catering is a big holiday home for up to 16 people, barely a ten-minute stroll from the harbour and sandy beach in Cullen. When we say "big", we mean huge, with three floors, nine bedrooms, a games room with a bar, multiple reception rooms, and a private garden with a hot tub. Guests love how welcoming the house is and how well the layout suits a multi-generational holiday. The setting is ideal for a self-catering holiday in Moray with your extended family and friends, while the central location is good for cafes, takeaways, a small supermarket, and other amenities.
Cullen is a thriving harbour town famous for a delicious soup made from locally caught smoked haddock and potato (Cullen Skink). It's the perfect dish to warm you up after a chilly coastal walk in winter or a dip in the North Sea. Cullen Harbour isn't only popular with fishing boats. Locals and brave visitors enjoy jumping off the harbour walls at high tide, taking care to avoid the boats. Cullen Beach is lovely and sheltered, and suitable for swimming. If you don't fancy immersing yourself in the bracing sea water (peak temperatures are around 13C-15C), you can enjoy the views as you walk west to Portknockie via the Cullen Bay and Portknockie Path. Alternatively, go east past the ruins of Findlater Castle and Logie Head to Sunnyside Beach, winding your way inland for a stretch to see the countryside.
There is lots to see and do while you're staying in Cullen. Elgin cathedral and museum are half an hour's drive from the house, and you can easily reach Banff, Lossiemouth, and MacDuff. Keith, Forres and Fochabers are inland and worth a visit, as are the Moray Motor Museum, Duffus Castle, and Spynie Palace. Golfers are spoiled for choice with eleven courses within 30-45 minutes of the house, including Cullen Links in under a mile. Whisky lovers have a choice of several distilleries to visit nearby.
Crannoch Self Catering was built with hospitality at its core. The owners have transformed the former bar and restaurant into a wonderfully welcoming and spacious holiday home where you can stay in comfort with your family and friends.
