Cladach is a gorgeous waterfront holiday home in Buckie, designed and built to make the most of the incredible views and the fantastic location. There are panoramic views over the Moray Firth from the balcony and the living room, reminding you (not that you're likely to forget!) that the beach is just a few steps away. It sleeps four people in two bedrooms with two bathrooms, so it's ideal for couples, families or friends. Shops, cafes, and friendly pubs like the Harbour Bar, are all within walking distance.
Buckie may not be the first seaside town that springs to mind when you're considering a self-catering holiday on the east coast of Scotland, but it should be. It has lots going for it all year round, including beautiful walks and lovely cycling routes leading to spectacular views. Start your orientation by the harbour, taking your binoculars to make it easier to spot sea birds, osprey, otters and dolphins. Walk or cycle along the coastal path and take advantage of having a choice of Speyside distilleries so close. The long-distance Speyside Way footpath starts (and finishes) by Buckie Harbour, so you've no reason not to get outside and experience everything this amazing location has to offer.
Days out can include shopping and sightseeing in Inverness, playing golf on one of Buckie's two golf courses, sailing around the coastline, mountain biking and hill walking in the Cairngorms National Park, or skiing and snowboarding there in winter. Drive west to the seaside resort of Nairn, where the beachfront promenade, park and Splashpad are very popular in warm weather. Those with interest in Highland history can visit the battlefield of Culloden, Cawdor Castle, Castle Stuart, Inverness Castle and Urquart Castle. Anglers have their choice of beaches, rivers and lochs, including Loch Ness. You may, like some who stay at Cladach, set aside your plans for the day in favour of sitting on the balcony and appreciating not having to go anywhere else to have a wonderful time.
